Rated 5 out of 5 by from Firm Grippers [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Locking pliers must grip firmly to do the job. The adjustment screws on this pair of locking pliers are unique as they permit one to apply extra tightening torque because of the holes in flat adjustment screw grips. The holes allow one to use a screwdriver shaft to turn the adjustment screws with extra force. The holes in the adjustment grips are a really handy way to hang the pliers on the pegboard over my tool bench, much handier than other locking pliers I have. The soft grip handles of these pliers make for hand comfort during use. I have learned to appreciate the innovation of Milwaukee Tool, this product being no exception.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gripping power [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pair of curved jaw locking pliers has an aggressive grip on the jaw that really holds on to the material. The handles have a nice comfort grip material that is easy on the hands. The locking mechanism is solid and instead of a lever to release you just pull them apart or unscrew the adjustment screw to pop them open. What I really like is the torque setting. It is a solid metal part with a hole in the middle so you can slide a screw driver in it to apply additional force for adjusting the torque. You can also use the hole to hang the pliers in your workshop. This is a welcome addition to my toolbox!

I bought these after reading various reviews of different brands and looking up what might be carried by my local Home Depot. I needed something that would work really well to remove a rusted bolt after the head snapped off. I needed all the grip I could get. I was sold on these due to the adjustment screw allowing a screw driver to tighten it much more that the knurled knob on other brands. That was exactly the feature that made it possible to remove the bolt. I haven't been this pleased with a tool purchase in a while. I highly recommend them.

I own locking pliers from all the big name tool trucks and these are far more superior. The teeth do not roll over and slip like all the others seem to, and with the option to put a screw driver or small bar into the hole on tightening handle for extra grip they hold great. I have owned these for over two years and use them daily use them daily ifor auto repair and still work as when they are new. This set was purchased as a gift.

Could this be used on a rounded off bolt to help remove it ?
Asked by: tools
Yes. I was able to use it to remove a rusty bolt with a head snapped off. I was able to use it to grip the other end of the bolt that was sticking out about 1/4 inch. I tightened it down with a screwdriver through the hole in the adjuster to make it extra tight. That was tight enough for a firm grip. The extra tightening might not be needed for most cases but this was very rusty and stubborn. I also treated the bolt with penetrating oil three times before attempting.
