Rated 3 out of 5 by from Framing work only. It really is not that square I guess you get what you pay for. I got this square as a gift and was using to check squareness of cabinet parts I was building as they came off the table saw. I was scratching my head because my cuts were not showing square. Further investigation found that each leg of the square is not flat. The short leg was the worse with a .024 bulge in the middle. When I checked the square against my Woodpeckers square (which is guaranteed to be within ±.0085°...but cost nearly $175) there was a .018 (see photo) gap in the corner. I know this is nit-picky and I'm sure it is fine for rough framing work. But the nicely etched markings and smooth finish made me think it was better than it is. It's for the job site not the shop.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice framing square. My old framing square is made of steel and has started to rust. It is also hard to read. This Milwaukee square is made of thick aluminum and is well marked for readability. The anodizing is well done and I could not find any splotches in the red color. There are no burrs or sharp edges. It is a really nice tool. Made in USA. This square is available in both inch and metric versions. Even though I live in the US, I went for the metric because it is usually easier to manipulate numbers in metric, for example, cutting something exactly in half. If you're doing rough carpentry, you probably want the inch version.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great square with high visibility markings. Metric markings are easy to read. The feel is light and strong. The aluminum is non-magnetic. Normally I use fractional marked square but this is for the odd metric requirements. Very accurate and well-marked. Has many drilled out spots for marking, It has framing calculators printed on the square. All conversions are metric. Scribe notches are cut into the square. A little thicker than most squares. Beautiful work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a quality Milwaukee tool that is made in the good old USA and carries a limited lifetime warranty. The framing square is 400mm (16") X 600mm (24"). Most of the framing squares that are purchased, are made with 1/16" steel where the milwaukee square is more than double in size thickness of 3/16". By the feel in your hands, one can tell this is a HEAVY-DUTY framing square. Majority of the time when a standard framing square becomes warped from use and abuse. I can assure you that this Milwaukee tool can stand up to abuse and keeps it perfect shape. The square is loaded with etched information from rafter angle cuts from 22.5, 30, 45 and 60 degrees right and left side for cuts. Also has rise per meter, common rafter lengths, in valley rafter lengths, difference in length of jacks, side cut of jack and side cut of hip and valley. Also has scribed notches cut into the body. Milwaukee states that the square is stronger than steel and I believe it and you will too when you have it in your hands.
