Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not accurate The level looks nice and has lots of bells and whistles that are handy. But at the end of the day, the level needs to be accurate and it is not. The 72" level is off by over a tenth of a degree. It may not sound like much, but a tenth of a degree is an 1/8" off over the 72" span of the level. You try and use it on 8, 10, 12, or 15 ft walls and it is off up to 1/2" off from one end to the other. The stated accuracy in the documentation is .03 degrees, but ours is actually .11 degrees. All our other digital levels have a calibrate button, but the Milwaukee does not. With no way to calibrate the level, it is not usable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a DIY woodworker this tool may seem a bit over the top. but for those of you who do try to do things right, you know having a for sure level work space is a very nice plus! I am sure there will be many other uses for this tool, I have just started to explore all that it can do, but I can already see a level as precise as this is going to be a great asset to my shop and home projects. Plus it comes with a carrying/ storage bag that not only holds it, but has a place for the charger as well. Clear easy to read numbers from the front or the top, audible alerts even a back light. This is my first Milwaukee tool, but can tell you it will not be my last!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THIS LEVEL IS PERFECT [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This level is just plain AWESOME. I have to admit that an old school guy like myself was pretty reluctant about the purchase of this new tech device. This level is so accurate, that it makes me want to go back and re-check some of my bubble level measurements. Now I have a hard time with a cell phone. But learning how to use this level was a breeze. Just do what it tells you to do. That simple. The viewing screens are well made, and easy to read. The carrying case keeps it well protected. And I love the 72 inch reach. This level will solve most any construction or home needs.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This level is awesome, In my opinion you can’t find anything more accurate. The carrying case has a separate pouch to also protect the USB cord and wall adapter. This is another one of the high quality tools that Milwaukee makes. There are so many features you’ll need to carry the “Quick Start Guide” with you for a while. I’ve attached a copy of the “Quick Start Guide” in case you want to review before purchasing, because it’s not found on The Home Depot web-site as of now. For me the main ones other than “level” are the angle and percentage. After you power it on you can double tap the on/off button to turn the audio on. There will be a constant chirping until the level is at 0.00 then it’ll change to a double beep every 2 seconds. Because it’s 72” long you can use it to make sure door jambs have no gaps or waves on the hinge side first then the handle side. I’ll be starting a new pole garage soon and plan on using it when I set the poles. The next one I’m going to get is the 24”. https://www.milwaukeetool.com/-/media/PDFs/RedStick/QS-guide.pdf

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The 72 inch digital level comes with a nice carrying case to protect it as it makes its way to the job site. It is straightforward to setup. Insert the battery and follow the on screen instructions. The digital representation for the old school user accustomed to reading a bubble may be odd, but fear not there is a digital representation of the bubble idea on the edge screen. The circular screen on the front of the level turns green as it reaches level or plumb. It also has a circular graphic showing the direction the level should rotate to reach level or plumb. There are 4 modes to measure, angle in degrees, percentage, inches per foot and millimeters per meter incline. An adjustment for showing values to the hundredth, tenth and whole number readings is also present. Additional tolerance, sound and language settings are available. Operation is fairly intuitive and did not require much reading in the manual to operate.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In time, the digital age will catch up with even the most-basic tools. There is a level (pun intended) of getting used to this implementation, as it is easier to accept a bubble that is slightly off than to deal with a number that shows exactly how much off-level the surface actually is. This beautifully-made tool comes with its own storage bag. Essential, I think, because I don't see myself abusing it like I do my old bubble level. The bag also provides a place to store the included USB charging cable and power adapter. By default it comes set to display in hundredths of a degree. I found it quite unnerving that the display, while set on a 'level' hard surface, at times fluctuated both up and down within its accuracy tolerance of .03, so that a reading of .24 degrees showed a reading from .21 to .27. Changing the accuracy to tenths, which is easily done, did not entirely remove this irritation, as the disply then fluctuated between .2 and .3. That said, once one has become used to working with the super-accuracy of this level, there's no going back.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This level is absolutely incredible, one of those tools that I never realized could be so much better than the basic one I had used for years. My usual 2' level works for many applications, but I have found that there are an incredible number of uses for a longer level, some that are easier than measuring and leveling individually, like hanging pictures down a hall, and some outdoor applications that would have been much more difficult, like leveling a garden wall on a slope, without this level. A friend also used it to level the surface of a table he built, which would have been difficult to complete without a level this size. I love all of my Milwaukee power tools, but this is the first I have used with a digital screen and I find it every bit as high quality as what I would expect from this brand. Top notch and easy to use, just make sure you have a good place to store it!

work in 220W?

work in 220W?
Asked by: Pavel
Did you mean 220V? This comes with a US 2-pin power to USB converter that is marked as 100-240V 50/60 Hz. If you do not have a suitable two-pin power receptacle, remove the power converter and plug the USB charging cable into a suitable USB port.

Is the battery replaceable by the user? What is the battery part number? Is it proprietary from Milwaukee or a standard one like a common camera battery?
Asked by: Larry
The battery is a rechargeable, replaceable Li-ion. It is proprietary through Milwaukee tools. I don't have the number.

Flooring question. Could you use this in level quick mud , to spread the mud? as if it was a metal square edger.

Asked by: Ericshin
Hi Eric, we do not recommend using the Milwaukee 72 in. REDSTICK Digital Box Level for this application.
