Rated 5 out of 5 by from Underwhelmed then Overly Excited I admit I was skeptical at first of the 12v line. I am a professional garage door install tech and rely Heavily on my impact(s). Walking out of the big box store, I was giddy to see red finally being entered into the current sea of yellow in my tool line up. I wanted to start red originally but I got an amazing deal from a journeyman going yellow to red and couldn’t pass up the opportunity. I was looking for a way to not bust my budget and get started on the yellow to red swap and I’m so glad I started here! After unboxing, I popped the batteries in and was underwhelmed at the difference between speed of this impact and my yellow 20v. On the other hand this drill absolutely smoked my yellow 20v drill drilling 1/4” holes. After seeing that positive I decided to go ahead and assemble my door track and hardware and that’s the moment I fell in love with the impact. It was light and didn’t torque my wrist over! Also, I could hear better since it is quieter than my yellow 20v! These smaller tools blew my mind and they will be in my arsenal until they die. Seeing this, I’m switching to all 12v fuel and getting only necessary m18 where it’s needed (impact for 3” lags, angle grinder to cut footers, drill for 1” holes in steel doors and a hackzall to cut wood doors in half). Hats off to Milwaukee, Fanstatic product! Ditching yellow and going red!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Price and reliability Definitely worth the buy at a great price point. Instantly far more reliable than other brands I’ve used before. The adaptability with the other M12 products with charging and batteries is quite a game changer when compared to other brands as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tools for the 12 volt line. Great tools for the 12 volt line. Bought them because I have 2 12 volt batteries that go to my 12 volt Laser thermometer I bought about 6 years ago. They are built well and good enough for what I need them for. Time will tell if they can handle bigger things then what I use them for, just making a cargo trailer into a camper. Like that the batteries are small and not really heavy, unlike some of the 5+ amp hour ones out there. Tools are pretty heavy for the size. But are good quality as expected from Milwaukee.

How long does it take to get fully charged?

Asked by: Miru
I think it’s around 15-20min. But really depends on the level of discharge before charging and temperature of the battery. Usually swap between two batteries, I have never discharged a battery faster than the charger charges it. Hope this helps!

Does anyone else have issues with the 4.0 battery getting stuck?

When i put the 2.0 battery it goes in and comes out easily, but when it comes to the 4.0 it feels like i almost have to break it to get it out. Anyone else haveing this issue?
Asked by: Jon
Yes I've had this issue with a number of recently produced m12 batteries. It certainly appears to be a quality control or material change issue. The casting flash on the mating lines of some of my batteries was so mismatched they had to be honed and polished before the would fit the tool's battery chamber. There seems to have been a material change in the battery casing also. They almost glue themselves in the tool and the release plastic is so stiff its nearly impossible to get to unlatch.

Milwaukee has a spot on their website where you can send it in and they will repair/replace it for you. You could try your local HD but they will probably refer you straight to Milwaukee.
