Rated 5 out of 5 by from Longer runtime [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a second battery for my M18 Hole Hawg 1/2 in. Right Angle Drill which shipped with a 4Ah battery. While checking Home Depot's website I noticed that the 4Ah and 5Ah were currently the same price and appear to be the same size and weight. That seems strange to me but who am I to argue… I'll take the 5Ah. It arrived partially charged so I juiced it up to full power. The blister pack is nearly impossible to open. I don't notice any increase in power but there is a noticeable increase in runtime. If you need to replace a dead battery, or just want a backup, this 5Ah seems like the natural choice.

It produces 20% more runtime than the XC4.0 Battery, yet is the same size and about the same weight. The XC5.0 Lithium Battery is ideal for contractors using power intensive cordless tools such as circular saws, sawzalls and hammer drills. After using the new XC5.0 Battery for several weeks, I am very impressed with its performance. The only minor negative is it takes over an hour to charge a depleted battery to full capacity. Highly recommended for all contractors or do-it-yourself users using compatible power intensive Milwaukee Cordless Tools.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red tools for life! We have about three dozen tools, so you can imagine the batteries, I think about thirty. 3s 4s 5s 9s and 12s. But the 5.0 are where it’s at! They have incredible life in the smaller stuff, drills, impacts, saws, and what not. They even do well in the big stuff like the big blower, hammer drills, miter saw, and tower lights. I run 8 5.0s on my truck and charge them about every two weeks! And today I have my first EVER bad battery in 7 years. They take falls from the roof, get used as a hammer, used in the rain snow and heat of summer. They are like a mailman but never go on strike.

Exact same problem as what is being experienced by many of the other reviewers of the 9AH. Sent to Milwaukee for repair. Spoke to their product repair department AND social media department. They did not address the cause of this batteries failure (BMS?/Cells?). They quoted me a price of 209$ for a "repair". Milwaukee will not stand behind defective batteries and well KNOWN defects in their products.

I noticed about a year ago that the battery was no longer charging and would flash green and ready as faulty. I thought nothing could be done. I have been using my cp2.0 since. I have been finding it isn't holding as much a charge any more. My friend recommended to me over Easter, I reach out and see if Milwaukee will stand by their product and workmanship. I am a casual user and almost hardly use the battery. Stored inside my closet at ideal temperatures. The most strenuous thing this is used for is changing tires a few times a year, This is terrible quality. I am very disappointed and hope Milwaukee will stand by the product and send a replacement.

I have other milwaukee tools that I am very impressed with and the only problem with my recent purchase is the impact driver had some small plastic pieces fall out of the brush end to the tool after about three hours of use. The tool still works but sometimes I think small pieces still in the tool jams the trigger keeping it from working. I think the small pieces may be from a cooling fan maybe that came apart because like i said it is still usable but doesn't work completed as it should. would be nice if I could exchange it for another or send it in for repairs. I do think the m18 line is very good line of tools other than this one problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love warranty I’ve never personally had a problem with any milwaukee battery unless I dropped it a bunch and/or it was a couple years old, but they are warranted a full year I believe(fc?)... My 4.5 year old hammer drill broke and I was able to just send it back to Milwaukee and they replaced it with a brand new one, no questions asked. Love that. 5 Star Warranty on all product lines.

I doubt there is a black & white, cut & dried answer to this question. Surely there are several variables at work in these matters. I have been using battery-operated tools for many years. The Li-Ion batteries are far superior to the old Ni-Cads. They charge in much less time and the charge seems to last longer. The Li-Ion batteries I have used a lot are Makita, Ryobi and Milwaukee. The Ryobi's don't seem to last that long, but in a period of 4-5 years now I have not yet had a Makita nor Milwaukee fail to take and hold a charge.

I have several Milwaukee drill motors that came with M18 Lithium-ion chargers. I don't want to purchase another charger if the ones I already have will charge the 5.0 Ah battery.

We keep them in the trucks in harsh midwest winters. Sometimes 15 below zero or worse. I haven’t seen a loss in performance after a few years.
