Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great tool but TERRIBLE quality batteries I purchased this driver/battery combo and it had a defective battery.I assumed it was from being on the shelf for so long so I then returned it to Home Depot. I purchased another kit and the EXACT SAME THING was wrong with that one. One battery was fine and the other would blink red and green and fail to charge... I love the driver and am just going to keep the second kit and throw out the dead battery, I just wish that it hadn't happened twice, I love Milwaukee tools and they are usually extremely reliable, unfortunately that is not reflected in these batteries.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Awesome for 1st 4 years I have purchased 13 Milwaukee cordless tools over the last 4 years. I am worried about all my purchases now because my 1st purchase of a M18 fuel brushless impact driver powers out under very little resistance. I have to use my M12 to finish the job. I am a diyer and tools are not overly used. I have been an avid supporter of Milwaukee, but I am worried that another m18 or m12 tool will soon fail. Milwaukee tools cost more, but until now I have rationalized the extra expense thinking that the brand was a cut above the others. I do not know if Milwaukee can or will be able to do anything about my m18 fuel impact driver, but fingers are crossed that the other 12 cordless tools keep running.

I’ve been renovating my basement for far too long and I’ve had the opportunity to used the Milwaukee, Ryobi and Porter Cable tools side by aside and there is no comparison whatsoever. By the time the other tools are thinking about getting it done, the Milwaukee has sunk and set. Well made. Very compact and very well powered.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Contest When I first opened this bad boy up I was surprised on how compact this was. I was concerned that it would not be powerful enough. After the first 10 minutes of using this I can honestly say my concerns were put to rest. I was with 2 others who happen to have 2 different tool platforms and when it came to performance it wasn't even close. I love the size, power the 4 speed setting, the light. quick load collet and the quality of the drill. My only complaint if I had one is the collet could be a little more true but other than that its amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fuel Drill works great! The 5.0 battery. While the work time is great. The battery seems a bit heavy for rest of drill. Tips it to off centre and effects the contact with bit and screws. I will try the smaller battery.haveing said that.. The power and torque sends 3 1/2 deck screws home all day without issue. Its lughtweught and easy on yr grip forearm after a day of useing it.. I like the setting option to reduce power so its not jumping and stripping screws. The charger works fast and i like the smart charge safety feature.. The lught has been extreamly handy.all in all the best ive owned yet. My only need is a holster for this drill for my tool belt cant find one that futs it.. And the clip it has is only good if yr not moving much as it wil bump out and then dropping drill on ground and bending bits..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good but.. I have exclusivly owned and used milwaukee m18 gear for years now. This replaced an old m18 impact that was still great after years but was stolen. This tool is fast and strong. Too strong for cheap bits, use high end bits and you will be fine. It is quiet loud (thats what you get with this much power) so if you are only doing interior smaller work, their cheaper impact would be better. So far it has held up to my abuse (as with all my m18 tools)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful, and almost perfectly reliable I use this impact as a construction electrician, and it has been an amazing companion. Extremely powerful, it has performed as needed and then some 99% of the time. Very rarely, it will not start up when the trigger is pulled, usually when I am in an awkward position holding something up and trying to put a fastener in place haha, however, it will work again after the battery is removed and reinserted. The black rubber sections have some minor issues with separating from the red hard plastic, but not on the handle, just on the rear surround where the motor sits, therefore not causing any issues with actual use. I absolutely would buy this again, specifically recommending it with a 2.0ah battery, however, it is more likely that my next impact driver will be the M12 Surge because the 18v impact has more headroom with performance than I need.

Need something compact and strong enough for lug nuts. Up to 150lbs or so. Any idea if I can use a 1/4 or is it a must and still have to lug around a 1/2 inch drive still?

Hi Eric, I would suggest our compact impact wrench (2755-20). This tool delivers up to 220 ft-lbs of torque, enough power for lug nut removal.
