The M18 FUEL 1/2-inch Mid-Torque Impact Wrench w/ Pin Detent provides 650 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque while weighing only 5.1 lbs with a 5.0Ah battery, making it an extremely versatile tool, capable of performing a wide variety of applications. Its POWERSTATE Brushless motor generates the power needed to quickly perform many of the same tasks, such as removing large bolts. This tool is the most compact in its class, allowing access to stubborn fasteners. Tri-LEDs surround the anvil to deliver brighter light with less shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL offers greater precision with a range of pre-set RPM and IPM levels, selectable from a single button on tool. By selecting Mode 4, AUTO SHUT-OFF control applies no more than 35 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight fastening applications to prevent overtightening. Also, in Mode 4, Bolt Removal control delivers full torque output, then decreases RPMs once a bolt is loosened to prevent fastener drops.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This impact wrench is so much nicer than my old one. I really appreciate the size and weight of it. The compact size makes it makes it easier to maneuver in a small tight space. The impact wrench only weighs about 5 pounds. It has a brushless motor that delivers 650 ft. lbs of torque which can break free any nuts easily and quickly. My favorite feature is the three LED lights that are on the anvil. There a 4 different modes to suit your need. Battery last long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Removing a 5/8"dia. threaded bolt with a 15/16" socket head from my 4' dia. farm tractor tire's wheel, is not easy, with a standard socket handle, but this impact wrench made quick work of it. This impact wrench offers 4 Modes of operation for RPM & Impacts Per Minute (IPM). I used Mode#3: 0-2575 RPM & 0-3100 IPM, to remove the tractor bolt & later, to reinstall it. The other modes are: Mode#1, 0-1250 RPM with 0-900 IPM; Mode#2, 0-1950 RPM with 0-2100 IPM; Mode#4, 0-2575 RPM with 0-3100 IPM & auto shut off once torque is achieved. Also, on bolt removal, once the bolt breaks free from the joint, then the tool slows down. I simply pushed a button, on the drive control, to select which mode to use. I also used this impact wrench to remove a 5/8" dia. bolt that secured my brush hog 's cutting blade. It had always been a really tough removal. I used Mode#1 on this impact wrench & it removed the bolt so fast, I didn't even have to secure the cutting blade. I took this impact wrench out to the field gate, at my farm, to remove a rusted hinge bolt so I could make an adjustment. Again, I used Mode#1 & the nut came right off the bolt, saving me a lot of time & effort. One of the beauties of this impact wrench is: it does what an air compressor impact wrench would do, only without the air compressor, or hose, that can tangle, or not reach the work site & require more adjustment time & effort. I would never bring an air compressor out of the shop to do field work. The small form factor of this impact wrench permits me to get into tight spaces. For quick access, the forward & reverse buttons are perfectly placed right behind the full size trigger. The variable speed is sensitive to finger pressure & works in forward & reverse. The ergonomic handle, with anti-slip coating, is very comfortable to hold. The top & bottom of the impact wrench is perfectly balanced, making it easier to hold & use, over a period of time. Three LEDs around the arbor provided plenty of light & stayed lit for several seconds, after the trigger was released. Even though the battery never seemed to run out of power, the power level indicator, on the batteries, kept me aware of how much power I had left. The whole set: impact wrench, two batteries, battery charger, operator's manuals, came in a very heavy duty carry case. This is a highest quality impact wrench.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Milwaukee M18 ½ in Impact Wrench set meets my expectation for quality, power, versatility, size, and ease of use. My observations after multiple uses: • This is a beast and I almost never use that phrase. The real world power/torque this produces for a ½ in. 18V Impact is incredible. • Of course it’s brushless and part of the Fuel line which is ideal for some of the most serious applications and longevity of the wrench. • The size is perfect for getting into tight areas. Simply put, this ‘compact’ size for an 18V impact is key to getting jobs done when larger impacts can create issues. I also took a pic of this M18 ½ in. impact sitting next to my M12 ½ in. impact just so you can visualize the size difference. Both have their ideal uses. • This had no issues removing lugs nor any other bolt I encountered. Bolt removal mode works as advertised when I tested. The RPM’s slowed after bolt was loosened. • This wrench has the pin-detent. I like the pin-detent as the sockets stay on well. It’s really a matter of preference and how you will use and how many sockets you will change out through the day. • The 3 LED’s are extremely bright. You will have no issues at all with getting adequate light. Shadows were minimal. • This is a ‘kit’ which comes with two 5.0Ah batteries, a charger (for both M12/M18 which most will appreciate), and a seriously protective carrying case. I’ve also always felt the ‘kits’ are the best deal to get additional batteries at a good cost per battery. • The 4 modes worked very well in my application. Modes 1 thru 3 provide increasing RPMs. Mode 4 provides protection from overtightening with auto shut off. After that you can hand tighten. The mode button is also easy to use and access with or without gloves. • Ergonomically speaking this fits my hands well. It’s rubber and has great grip in the right places. • The variable speed trigger worked well and was easy to manipulate while working. I really don’t think you can do any better for this class of ½ in. Impact Wrench. I’ve trusted Milwaukee tools for decades. It’s a great product line to invest in. I highly recommend this Impact.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t think Milwaukee could improve a already great product. I already own the previous generation of this impact and it’s incredible to me how they improve things. It’s more compact and more powerful than the first gen. This kit is awesome because it comes with two batteries and the charger. It also comes in a hard case which is really cool but the only thing I don’t like about it is when I put the rubber over mold protector on the impact it won’t close. But still awesome either way. I was able to remove any lug nut that I had to remove. I even snapped a 1/2 inch thick lag attaching a patio to a home. This impact has plenty of power for anything you put in its way. My favorite thing about it is it is more compact than the original. And I’m really clueless to how Milwaukee does it to put more power in a smaller package. The runtime on this thing is amazing because I haven't even gotten down to the last bar yet and at one point I was running lag bolts for about half the day and some big ones. I really like the light on this one more than the first GEN because now it has three LEDs instead of one. Really nice improvement. In my opinion Milwaukee is completely taking over this segment of the market. Easily beating snap on and other top contenders. I think on the specs it says it’s 600 foot pounds and I totally believe it. I definitely prefer battery powered impact now over air in this one even has a really nice feature for smaller applications or when you don’t wanna go all the way. It will tighten and stop at about 35 foot pounds when on that special mode. Also it has a mode where I can remove the lug nut and right after it loosens it , It will slow down so the nut doesn’t fly all over the place. Just an all-around great tool. I really like the features of the different settings because even though it is powerful I can tone it down for something a little more sensitive so I’m not breaking bolts. The pin detent on it works really good to because I have not had any sockets come off. This kit is a great deal compared to any other competitors that can come close like snap on this is definitely a winner. It’s made really well and heavy duty, lightweight and compact. I really am impressed how they made a great tool even better and I’d recommend it to anybody because you’d be set for life. 10 out of 10

Rivalling similar top of the range air powered guns this one is better because there is no air hose for one thing and the 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL offers a good range of torque control for both driving in and removing fasteners of all kinds. The three LED illumination is very good at lighting areas to see the work in hand. There is not quite as much feedback as I am used to with other similar tools but that is something that can be learnt. The gun has a balanced weight with the battery attached and can be used for extended periods without undue fatigue.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since my brother-in-law and I are restoring several old & antique cars, trucks, and tractors, we are frequently removing and replacing tires & rims in order to get to brakes, hoses, wiring, etc. With this new Milwaukee 1/2 inch impact wrench I am now able to leave the cords and hoses behind. This will be a great time saver, plus this cordless impact wrench is much more versatile. The three LED's are bright and the lights focus directly on the target. The 4-Mode Drive Control does much more than just adjust the RPM range. The control also sets different Fastening Torque and Nut-Busting Torque. The fourth mode, which is labeled with a symbol, slows down when the nut breaks free during bolt removal. Because this wrench has Pin Detent, sockets designed for this feature will remain on the anvil until the Detent Pin is released. I will not be concerned about excessive use over short time periods because REDLINK PLUS intelligence is built in to this impact wrench in order to protect it from overloads, heating, and over-discharge. The included sturdy carrying case holds the charger, two batteries, and the impact wrench. The batteries included are M18 REDLITHIUM 5.0Ah. Considering everything included, this Milwaukee impact wrench kit is a great value for the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The M18 FUEL GEN-2 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless Mid Torque 1/2 in. Impact Wrench with Pin Detent Kit is a great impact wrench. I am a home hobbyist who likes to work on his vehicles and had been using an electric ½ inch impact until getting this tool. The Milwaukee is fairly light for the tool that it is. The 550 foot pound of torque is more than plenty for the tasks I am doing in my home garage. I know that most newer tools have LED’s but it was a nice surprise to see the feature and very useful when trying to get light into an area where I’m working. I bought the kit because this is my first M18 tool so I have two batteries. The batteries are strong and will give a long use before needing to recharge. My first Milwaukee purchase and I plan to add more M18 tools to my garage.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this because my air impact wrench is not always available. Or should I say does not handle the job. I have a 1/2" impact set that runs on 90 PSI and it will not handle the task when I need it. So now I got the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Gen-2 18-volt and it is sweet. This is well made to very high standards there is nothing cheap about this system. To start off I charged both my Battery's to full charge. Then the next day put it to the test. Did a tire rotation on my Neighbors F250 In record time. Put the truck on stands and jacked the back up then started to remove and rotate the tires. Started on the 1st setting #1 and it would not break the lugs lose went to #2 still would not break lose. Then went to #3 and was able to break lose the lugs. Set it to #4 and that's the sweet setting for removing the lugs. They break lose and then the speed drops and you just use the trigger and slowly back them off. Not like a air impact at all because with air it's always full speed and the lugs can go flying if you are not careful. Any way back to the Milwaukee the 3 led lights are great they are bright enough you can use it as a flash light if you needed to. the Hanging hook is solid not flimsy it will hold the weight of the impact and battery all day long. The only Miner issue was when holding it tight with my hand setting high in the handle I would hit the direction button and pop it half way in to the lock position by accident and have to push it back to run. solved this by lowering my hand a little. Anyway removed and reinstalled 32 lugs and rotated 4 wheels in less than a hour. still had 3/4 charge on the first battery and job done. My Neighbor wanted to keep my impact but that's not happening. This just replaced my Air Impact and no going back. I do a lot of wood working and those tools are next.
