I purchased this set due to the name brand and THOUGHT they would be a good set of drill bits for the money. They even have written on the packaging they are made for metal. I drilled 2 holes and STARTED on the third hole and the drill bit had dulled so much I was unable to finish the hole. I had to drill a pilot hole with three sizes down, move up one size at a time, and then pushed HARD for several minutes to finish that third hole! it was just a bed frame angle iron piece I was drilling through so it was not a thick piece of metal! I am absolutely and completely disappointed in these Milwaukee drill bits and will NOT recommend these to anyone! Jerome Snider

I have been using this set for nearly a year on different materials and the bits have remained sharp and true. The 1/4" base is great in cordless drills as you don't have to expand and tighten the jaws much to fit all the various sizes. My only gripe is the bits can be difficult to remove from their slots, sometimes needing needle-nose pliers to get them out of the case. This is definitely my go-to set of drill bits and store easily in my toolbox.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not hold up to stainless steel I have always believed that Milwaukee tools were high quality. I have both their 12V Cordless Impact Driver and Drill. Also have a couple of their lights. I purchased their Shockwave drill bits and impact driver sets to use with the impact driver and drill. I had my first opportunity to use these drill bits yesterday; had to drill holes on our stainless steel baking rings. The drill bits could not even make it through 3 holes. I dug out my old Black & Decker drill bits to finish the job. Now I'm stuck with expensive and useless bits. Not recommended.

The drill bit itself worked well, but the 1/2" bit sheered off from the chuck area the first time I used it to drill into an aluminum tube. Aluminum is much to soft to have caused this bit to snap, especially on its first use. The smaller bits have held up better, but considering the fact that the largest bit, which played a large part in my determination to buy the kit only worked once, I can not recommend them. I expected better from a Shockwave set.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money or frustration Have used Milwaukee tools and Accessories for years and have been satisfied with their performance so expectations were high with the shockwave drill bits. I started to use the drill bits for a barn I was building pre drilled into some wood and in less than five minutes the bit snapped grabbed another not five minutes later snapped again. Later when installing the metal roofing and pre-drilling again the same sad story but worse. Unfortunately I had purchased two kits so I was able to witness every snap of every bit I used. If this is the state of Milwaukee tools I won’t be purchasing anything with them ever again. On a side note I also used the Milwaukee 1/4” magnetic nut driver to remove some metal siding and within 1/2 hour it was stripped out...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I want my money back These drill bits drill nice, but when installing hardwood floor for the starter strips I drilled pilot holes for standard finish nails. I snapped 3 bits by drilling through the hardwood and accidentally hitting nails in the subfloor. After the first drill bit snapped I was very gentle about drilling subsequent holes. But unfortunately as careful as I was, I still snapped 2 additional bits. I’m going to see if Home Depot can return these for me. $45 is too much for my wallet on a product that breaks this easily.

how can people be so dumb that they are wondering what to do with the oil on the packaged bits?

Asked by: rickthecaroenter
It is very important to keep the oil coating for many reasons... Nevertheless there will always be some questions of various capacities ;)

can you use this drill into wood?

Yes, I am a novice woodworker and found these bits to do a nice job. The hex ends make it very useful for using small bore bits in a drill press.

Are these bits 3/8th drive accessable for a impact drill?

Asked by: Dzullo
I wouldn't use them for that, especially if your using them on concrete. You should use concreate impact bits for that, they have a arrow-head that's made for hammering into concreate.
