Rated 2 out of 5 by from I looked long and hard I expected the trim to look like the picture, but once installed there was a half inch gap between the handle and face plate. Yes I used the recommended valve, installed exactly to the correct depth for my wall, and yes I installed the trim kit correctly. The Moen rep said it was customary to have the half inch gap so it won't scratch the faceplate when rotated. So why don't they show that in the pic. It looks ill fitting and is poorly designed. I can't imagine how you could keep it clean inside the hollow handle w/o taking it off periodically. It's going back.

Easy to install, and looks great, BUT, as others have said, the distance the handle sticks out depends on how far the existing valve extends into the shower wall. Since this is a bathroom remodel, I didn't change the current valve placement. Even though the handle does stick out further than I expected (based on the product photo), it's still good looking, and I'm going to see how it works out.

The handle is sturdy and controls the temperature of the water perfectly. The kit is a rich mediium dark oil rub bronzed with nice metallic copper color accents. This kit helped update the fixtures in the shower at a reasonable price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product Elegant trim and finish looks nice. Delivery is fast. Remaining fittings are same plastic except the estcheon plate and knob. I still think scope of improvement in the gap between knob and estucheon plate. Thr gap looks bad and immediately catching attention. Makes a five star product a less than three star. I also would reocmmend allen set for hexagonal screw. The cheaper version crystal posi temp has allen in the set. Overall, i am satisfied but need to fix the gap. I believe i need to cut s.s. Pipe of about 2.25” dia and appropriate length to fix the the gap.

This works by simply turning the handle. The brushed nickel trim looks very nice and matches perfectly with the Moen extra trim piece I purchased separately to cover the enlarged opening for this reno since my shower only had front access to the plumbing through the shower wall. The final result was very satisfactory.

However, the look greatly depends on how far into the wall the valve is mounted. I my case, the handle sticks out quite a bit. So it does hurt the look of the trim kit a bit. I was initially disappointed, but the trim kit still looks nice. No fault with the trim kit. You just have to be aware how your shower water valve is mounted.

This fixture is not advertised as spot resistant. Does it mark-up easily with fingerprints and water spots? My old sink faucet always looked awful. Switching it out for a spot resistant one made a huge difference.

No I've not noticed permanent spots or fingerprints, it does spot a little when wet but is an easy wipe down... I thought it is spot resistant.

My shower has a Moen faucet that is about 25 years old. I'm pretty sure it's a posi-temp valve. How do I know if this trim kit will fit? If it helps, it says Moentrol on the face plate and it's a single push-pull knob.
