Rated 1 out of 5 by from Design flaw If you decide to purchase this product be very careful of the data wire. If the data wire becomes disconnected from the faucet body you will discover that you now own $400 worth of useless metal as there is no way to go to a manual bypass without it and no way to reconnect it. There should be a strain relief so that if you accidentally catch the wire it does not pull on the connection point inside the faucet. Ours lasted about 6 months and Moen offers no warranty or compensation for this issue. Also it took days to make contact with a customer service rep. Very disappointing

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Goes on in middle of the night Installed this last year, and it’s okay but I’d rather the sensor be on the top part over the sink since water from your hand drips onto the counter when using the sensor. I do like how it turns off automatically after about a minute. However it is now starting to go on in the middle of the night a few times per month and sometimes twice in one night! This is very annoying especially when the two babies finally sleep and this thing wakes us up. I don’t know why it is doing this, as I was checking if spiders were around in case one might have crawled over the sensor but I couldn’t see any reason it would go off. Could it be defective? Or is this a common occurrence and could be a stealthy spider??

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not last Very long Bought this one two years ago. Very happy with the sensor function at the beginning, but after replaced batteries the first time about a year ago,it started gave me all different problems, I reset the sensor control box, it went to normal again so not big deal. About a week ago I had to changed the batteries again, then it completely stopped working, I reset it again, then it starts spits water two times repeatedly. Contact customer service, they do not take phone calls anymore, only emails. I choose to replace the unit into a normal delta faucet today.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR performance Beware of Moen's "No drip no leak" warranty. My faucet started dripping and when I called for service I was told that I would have to send proof of when faucet was purchased. When I questioned this, I was told that if I read the fine print, I would have seen that ALL motion sense faucets have a five year warranty. Paid three time the amount for a faucet then I would have if I chose a Home Depot house brand for only a fraction of the warranty. I was told that if and when faucet is more then five years old that part would be $214 plus shipping and taxes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Useless out of the Box Bought this Faucet 2 weeks ago. Installed as per the manufacturer's specifications and it doesnt work! All it does is pulse twice and drip some water! Ive tried everything it said in the manual and just wont work. So I tried customer service, apparently I cant talk to anyone for 2 days! Brand new out of the box useless. Going to have to return it. Not going to wait however long its going to take to get this resolved.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from absolutely terrible A client had me install this unit, it's junk. The mixing valve was faulty. It wouldn't turn off, it wouldn't get hot enough. Then it would briefly work fine only to go to crap again. I would not recommend anyone buy this product. It has no backup system, if it dies, you don't have water...or cant turn off the water. As well with the sensor, you are having to get close enough to it that it is almost impossible not to get wet from the flowing water or water that is about to flow. Poor design all around.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stay away from motion sensor model We fell in love with the look and feel as soon as we saw this model. The motion sensor was a bonus, so we thought. What was never explained by Home Depot rep, the box, or the instructions, was that if the batteries die you have no water. This wasn't a real issue at first but after 3 sets of 6 AA batteries in 3 months it was becoming a costly feature. Each time the batteries die you have no water which seem unusual but it is how the design works. We bought some high end rechargeable batteries (2 sets) which addressed the cost concerns. However of the last 18 months just changing the batteries does not always get the water running again. Moen tech support people provided some quick support and advice about leaving the batteries out so it was fully dead before replacing them, unplugging the power pack from the unit and letting it sit for 5 minutes, then plugging it back in. All these steps now only work about 10% of the time. Our only hope is to let it sit powered down for up to 4 hours at the longest stretch (we left to go shopping), then it worked when plugged it. It is very frustrating and you know it doesn't die in the middle of the night, only when you need it of course. There are warning signs/flashes that tell you when it's about to die (most of the time), but changing the batteries before it dies has no affect on the random timing to get running water back. Our last straw was at Thanks Giving while trying to prepare the turkey etc. and it died not to come back up for hours. We did all the cleaning using a "bucket brigade" from the bathroom to the kitchen. Then the COVID lock downs started so we put off getting a replacement (without a sensor) until the new year. Wouldn't you know it, same issue happened preparing Christmas diner. So we're taking measurements and ordering online, so long as we can return it if the fitting isn't right. DYI this time trying to save some money after dropping so much the first time around. Very frustrating experience, buy the Essie without the sensor is our advice. PS- We have written Moen again, hoping to get a discount on a replacement. If not, we'll have to see who our business goes to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Tap Fantastic unit and well worth the money. We are not "do it yourself" people so we had a plumber come and install the unit.. quick, easy and we love it !! No more touching the tap with messy hands! We highly recommend this product.

Can I use electricity to run this faucet instead of batteries?

Asked by: MXG3
Yes you can. While the batteries, depending on the faucet usage, last for a reasonable time (aprrox. one year in our case) with the following AC adapter you won't need batteries any longer: Moen 169031 Optional AC Adapter Service Kit for Moen Kitchen Faucets with MotionSense

A few times a month it goes on in the middle of the night (often twice in one night). I changed the batteries twice and it still happens. Please let me know why it is possibly doing this and what I can do. Have two young kids, I need my sleep!

Asked by: Katherine
I don’t use batteries and didn’t have any issue with it but Avoid placing items close to the sensor.
