Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relatively easy to install, decent value for the features. We... Relatively easy to install, decent value for the features. We specifically picked the single sensor model, b/c we don't want to accidentally trigger the faucet on, and we don't want to TOUCH the faucet to turn it on either. This side sensor is something you can get used to quickly, and ours triggers when your hand gets within 4 inches, which is about right. There is an auto-shutoff feature as well. Note that the head is NOT metal and has a plastic hold/spray button. Not a big deal because it weighs less so magnets are not required to maintain connection when retracted (head relies solely on the attached hose weight below the sink to pull it up, so this could be an issue for some folks). We had no issues with holes in our retractable hose which others have mentioned earlier... but the hose does NOT have a metal covering like our previous faucet so longevity might be an issue. Don't forget to flush out and clean your existing valves and lines (our hot water was not working until we used some lime scale remover) Mixing electronics with water is generally a bad idea, but there's really no choice if you want the benefit of a touchless faucet. All water flows through, and is controlled by, the electronic flow valve. This means that even the manual faucet handle is fly-by-wire as well. Only odd thing is a slight delay when turning the faucet on, perhaps less than a quarter of a second, so just barely noticeable. This faucet ships with a battery pack and 4 AAs. Powering the faucet can present an issue, since everything is controlled electronically... no power means NO WATER at all. Ordering the optional power plug from Moen is ridiculously expensive ($100?) and it's really just a 1 amp power supply with a slightly smaller connector. It was easy to find a $15 equivalent online. Important to remember that if you have a standard 2-outlet plate below your sink like us, it's likely that BOTH of those outlet sockets are switched on/off with the toggle switch for your garbage disposal, so that won't help constantly power this faucet. My perfect kitchen faucet would would also have: - An included direct power + rechargeable battery setup, so that replaceable batteries could be kept charged with direct power and would automatically kick in with the loss of main power. - An all metal head that re-attaches with magnets (and nicer spray button) - A metal-braided or more resilient retractable hose - A faster and more responsive electronic valve

The sensor module was defective so I had to purchase a second faucet while the plumber was doing the installation = Extra labor costs. Home Depot refunded me for the defective faucet. Essie has less water pressure than the old Moen faucet. Otherwise, it looks nice and I like the touchless capabilities.

Will the water shut off automatically after you withdraw the hand or you have to wave to turn it off?
