Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to Build Bought 3 dock sections and they arrived on time just a couple weeks after ordering. The metal frame takes like a half an hour to put together if you have a helper. The instructions are very clear and easy to use. We followed the instructions and bought cedar (from home depot) for the decking. Cedar is more expensive than treated wood but treated wood will wreck your aluminum frame. The cedar looks and smells amazing. We only bought 10 per section but if we had a couple extra boards we could have used them to fill in some gaps. We also got some extra feet so the end of the dock doesn't sit on the shore but sits on the lake bottom.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good for light use Really lightweight, easy to install/remove. Downside is, not very strong or stable if you have strong wave action, bigger boats. our pontoon boat once pushed over this dock in a storm not sure I understand what the issue is with the decking, from reviewers below. Standard deck board work just fine, either PT or cedar. have had it for several years..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality but hard to get recommended cedar top The aluminum frame is good quality, but no one carries the recommended cedar wood they only have true 1/2 inch. For the top. They say not to use pressure treated , but don't tell you why. Pressure treated makes it a lot heavier than using cedar. The manufacturer says they sell a cedar top kit , but I was unable to find this for sale anywhere.

Can these docks be used in deeper water? I have a drop off at my beach, to about 15 feet. Thanks, Tom

Asked by: TomCampbell
The poles to anchor it to the lake bottom are only 8 ft. You'd need to get longer poles and cross members to go that deep.

Can this dock be converted to a floating dock?

Asked by: Ron 21
Hello Ron, This stationary dock has been designed to be ultralight making it easy to bring the boxes to the cottage and easy the removal for wintertime. The way it connects doesn't allow for installation of floating dock hinges. It will withstand a weight of 800 lbs but not lateral pressure created by a boat moored to it nor bouncing of a floating dock that would be attached to it. But it's a great fixed dock for installation in less than 4 ft of water!

does the depth of board allow for 1" thick or only 1/2"thick

Asked by: forsolar
Hi Forsolar, The thickness of the planks is called 5/4" (1" thick when sawn). And we recommand red cedar decking because it's light weight and mold resistant.

I am considering connecting four 4x8 kits together in a rectangular shape, can the post brackets be relocated a few inches so they are staggered when the sections are sitting next to each other?

Asked by: bernie5
Hi Bernie, the post brackets are welded to the end piece so you cannot modify that but we have modify the junction plates to have them a little bit smaller making the gap narrower between 2 dock sections in straight line. Some things cannot be changed though. The lateral adaptors for a side-by-side stay the same but we suggest adding a piece of wood on the aluminum side to fill the spacing. Hoping this helps, you can contact us if you have further questions at 1-800-585-1237

I am interested in 3 or 4 sections of Multinautic 4'x8' Aluminum Boxed Dock Frame Kit Model # 21111. My question is does sections come with cedar planking or is that extra. Thanks

Asked by: Willy09
It does not come with the Cedar Decking. You can buy the multinautic prefab decking for it (about $200) or buy the cedar deck boards and Build them yourself. I have bought 4 Sections of this deck and the cost of cedar deck boards and screws for the deck is about $100 per 4x8 dock.
