This Multinautic Semi-Floating Ramp/Dock Kit includes all the hardware and floats necessary to build a ramp and dock of the following sizes: 4 ft., 5 ft., or 6 ft. W x 12 ft. or 16 ft. L. The ramp, hinged to the dock, is used to secure the dock to shore and allows for water level fluctuation. Easy step-by-step plans allow you to build a strong, long lasting, top quality dock system that will suit your needs. The floats included in this kit will keep your dock floating at approximately 18-inch above the water line (this may vary depending on size of the structure). Rated 4 out of 5 by from inside dimensions incorrect I assembled a 4 x 12 ft dock alone in a day using 2 x 6 cedar for frame. The dock looks great and it is very solid. My only criticism is the fact that the instructions list the length of each piece of lumber required but the internal pieces are incorrect. They use a thickness of 1.625 inches instead of 1.5 inches per 2 x 6 to calculate the length of shorter pieces. The centre beam and the end cross pieces are about a quarter inch short if you follow the instructions. Be sure before cutting.

can it freeze? or it should be removed from water for winter?

Hello Daniel, The floats on this precise dock kit are hollow. Although foam filled floats are more resistant to ice damages, we do not recommend to leave a dock in the water for winter. On our website, multinautic.com, there is a guide explaining why it's not recommended and what to do if someone decides to do it anyway. Note that if you chose to leave them in the water, you will do it at your own risks. Thanks for asking!

high, medium or low freeboard?

Hello! As said in the product Overview, this dock kit will give you a freeboard of more or less 18" which is considered high. The measurement is approximative as it will depend on the size of the dock that you will chose to build. The floats described in the fifth bullets are 16" high. Hoping this will help make the right choice.
