Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value and solid Dock kit My husband was able to build this in just a few days (wood and all). The hardware is all no rust and very very sturdy and the floats are top quality too. All the pieces were there (thank goodness as the nearest hardware store is not close by) the dock sketch and instructions were very easy to figure out too which always helps! All in all, I'm very happy with my new sturdy and stable dock. It's a really good bang for not too many bucks and I would definitely buy this again and /or recommend this to fellow cottagers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are great docks. I purchased two smaller docks two years ago and was very happy with them they were 6 x 12 ft docks This year I purchased 3 more docks 8x16. I had a big issue with the shipping company. I called Multinautic and they solved all my problems quickly an professionally. I would highly recommend the company and the docks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Floating dock DIY I was sent kits with no instructions. Went online to download and notice pieces were missing. I called and was directed to the company. That is where I was told that I had the old plans and the missing pieces were no longer included as they are optional. I was sent new instructions and locations to buy more pieces. We were about 5 boards short and didn't have enough screws either. At least it floats for now.

Considering a 12ft x 16ft floating dock for this kit. Of course the wood will add initial weight to the floats before its utilized by persons. Do you suggest additional floats for this size or will the 4 floats suffice with reasonable stability? Thanks!

Asked by: Sunnyo
We used the 4 floats and so did our friends and it is fine. It moves a little but not much at all It was well worth the money. Friends of ours having floating docks too and used more but their floats are smaller .

Can the floats/dock be left in the water if the pond freezes with ice in winter?

Asked by: James
Hello James, There is really no clear answer, however, we strongly advise against it! It's not the fact that freezing water can damage your dock and floats; the problem is the movements of the ice. Generally, where lakes or rivers freeze, it is strongly recommended that all docks be removed for the winter. No matter the dock or float model, make or composition; deciding not to remove the dock from the water for the winter is obviously taking a risk. The weight of these big blocks of ice will push your dock against the shoreline or any obstacle and create much damage or even destroy your dock by crushing it completely. Some small lakes or protected bays may have no ice movements at all, these could be an area where the risk is smaller. Another important concern is whether the water level in your lake or river fluctuates during the winter months. Maybe your dock is placed over a rock that is very well immersed during the summer but if the water level drops in the fall, it will be just a few inches below the surface ice. If the ice breaks or moves, it will make your dock vulnerable. It could be damaged or even crushed by rock or ice itself. As for stationary docks, they must always be removed from the water for the winter. You will find more information on how to winterize docks on our website www.multinautic.com.

What is the actual size of this dock? The info here for model 19219 differs from the Multinautic website. Here it says its 6-8 ft. x 12-16 ft. On the Multinautic website it says 8 (or 10) x 12 or 6 (or 8) x 16. We want to build a 6x12 dock.

Is there a waterproof foam product available to fill the floating dock float tanks

Asked by: Anonymous
Not really, since most floats are foam filled with expanded polystyrene, however the floats that are supplied in this kit are very thick, if used on a lake, the prodfuct won't fail, it is guaranteed for 15 years.

From the question 3 years ago you mention that this kit comes with a 15 year warranty. When comparing your products, hollow floats only have a 1 year warranty and foam filled is 15. Can you confirm that this item (with hollow floats) is 15 years?

Asked by: MGT72
Hi MGT72, I apologize, my mistake, the foam filled floats are 15 years warranty and the Hollow floats 1 year warranty. Multinautic Team
