Rated 2 out of 5 by from Board spacing is way too much Tried this out with 5.5” deck boards which fit quite snugly into the slots. Was super excited about how easy and quick it was. However after getting a few together it became very apparent that the gapping looked ridiculous. It was somewhere around 15-20mm. I’d like to see something in the 6-10mm range

If I would like to build a 35 ft x 10ft pad, how many would I need?

Asked by: Cfin
We used the MultyDeck website. There is a section which helps you calculate what you will need

My project falls in between the spacing of joining two multydeck units. Can I cut one in half in order to join 5 6" boards plus 2x2" trim pieces?

Asked by: NM123
Yes, you can customize your project by manipulating the rubber bases. Manipulating the rubber base was required in a condo balcony installation video, and a few of our patio installation videos as well. To cut the rubber bases with a utility knife, wear safety glasses and safety gloves to protect your eyes and hands. Measure the base to the correct width that will hold the last joiner board. Score the rubber mat at that measurement. Repeat your cut, over the scoremark, to slice through the base. There are several videos on this topic, if you would like to see the demonstraton.

The ground in my garden is really uneven. All of the surfaces shown in the video were fairly level. Is this product self-leveling or does it need to be assembled on a fairly even surface? Thanks!

Asked by: ElleJaye
Hey. The ground does need to be fairly even. We have a sloped back yard and it is still a little uneven after a year. It is not self-levelling We are happy with the overall finished deck.

I leave in Canada, is this resistance to winter?

Asked by: Jose
We just installed this spring so I am unable to advise if this will be resistant to winter weather. We are in Canada as well.  This is a question for the manufacturer

How many do you need per duckboards underneath? One of the rubber bases ever 12"? 16"? 24?

Asked by: CdnBubble
Four typical deck sizes and project ideas are provided in the Instruction Guide PDF which can be downloaded from this page. The number of MultyDeck bases will depend on the overall size of your deck project. Refer to the Instruction Guide to see the material requirements, including number of MultyDeck bases and number of 6" deck boards, for four different deck sizes.

How far off the ground does your product keep the deck boards? Said another way, how much of an air gap between the ground and underside of the suspended deck boards? Thanks!

Asked by: rayjo
The suspended deck boards sit about 1/2” off the ground which is the thickness of the base where the boards sit. There would therefore be about 1/2” of air flow under the boards assuming you are in a flat surface.

Hi there, how many rubber bases are included in one package? How many do I need for a 10' by 12' area? Thanks!

Asked by: Renny
Hey. If you send me your email address I can send a pic.  Multydeck.com has a web site that includes instructions and list of materials specific to the size of deck you are building.  We built a 10 x 12 deck and we used 33 bases.  (Make sure to get deck base not “path”) The bases are sold individually.
