I tried to find this information before I purchased it, but couldn't find any. I found it afterwards. The wind turbine will be getting returned.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Break-in period The wind turbine may not be broke in yet. I have only seen 70 watts with a 40mph steady wind. It's nice that you don't need a dump load for this unit. It automatically brakes when the batteries are at 13.8v. The problem with this is that it doesn't come back online until the batteries drop to 13.1v. I feel like I am missing out on some power. So far not too helpful for off grid power. Hopefully it will produce more power when the bearings get broken in.

The screws required to mount the box are not identified by type or size and it is near imposible to find sutable mounting screw hardware.

How many miles per hour must this goal before it produces electric what is the startup speed

I'm new to renewable energy, so what would I need to make this system complete to run some things off it? wire ? battery? inverter to plug into?

There are 4 major components needed to set up your off-grid system. Wind turbine to produce power, the charge controller is built in to protect batteries from overcharge, no need to buy. You also need a battery bank for power storage and an inverter to transfer DC power from the battery to AC power. you can use the inverter to run your appliances. Yes, you can use while charging by solar, the battery reads higher voltage when charging, solar will charge during day and turbine will charge at night. to better regulate charge, use a Hybrid Wind solar Charge Controller.

Can you set the default voltage to 24V?

The voltage is automatically detected, no setting is needed it will detect a 24V if the battery bank reads higher than 21V. you cannot set defaults with this turbine, voltage detection is automatic.
