This cute tin pot can be used outside with plants like the photo suggests but the pot does not have any drain holes, so I suggest either modifying so water doesn't build up or use as a organization or decorative element. I used it as a decorative item for the house with dried out shells in it. The chalkboard works well and accepts chalk easily. The galvanized metal and matte back chalk-able surface looks good! It has a chalkboard label on the front. It is very light weight. I'm always disappointed by flower pots without drainage holes. I've mostly been using it around the house. Most recently I used to to hold plastic silverware for a party. I've also used it for snacks because I can label the front. I recommend using a chalkboard marker. This small in pot is absolutely adorable with my herbs planted in it. I also like the chalkboard because I can write which plant is in the pot and can change it as often as I change out plants. The best part is the handle which makes it a breeze to move around which I need to do often through the hurricane storm season. I would definitely recommend this and would love bigger ones. I have ordered this cute little planter with blackboard as a centerpiece in the dinner I have arranged to surprise my wife. She love surprises. So I decided to surprise her with a dinner. So I cooked food for her and arranged the table but something is missing on the table and there is no completeness. Then I was searching for different ideas suddenly this charm came into my mind. I have ordered this and planted a red mini roses plant and wrote a "******** ************" (its a personal message guys) on it and ta-da this cutie was a perfect add on there and my wife was very happy with this and she was praising me for the idea of this planter!!!She is a fan of nature. This is an attractive galvanized pot suitable for indoor or outdoor use. Contrary to the product description, the pot has a pre-drilled drainage hole, blocked by the price label. If the pot didn’t have a drain hole, I would have drilled one to prevent drowning my plants, so this is a useful feature. I use the pot for aloes that I shuttle from the garden to the patio table to inside the house. Looks great anywhere. The blackboard allows me to label the aloe variety so people don’t have to ask what it is. Nice addition to my plant collection! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

If you think this will be a nice planter as shown, you will be disappointed. However, if you want to pop plant already in a plastic pot from the garden center, that would work. There are no drainage holes in the galvanized metal pot. I see this as a gift container. It is a cute presentation to put a plant or other items in and then write a note on the chalk board label. A flower or an herb plant for your friend or child's teacher would be very cute. It could also be filled with pencils, crayons, chalk, markers, candy, etc. for yourself or for a cute gift. It seems a little pricey for what it is. Of course I am a bit of a bargain shopper so others might not agree with me. It has that cute farmhouse look that is so popular right now. There is a drain hole in the middle of the bottom if one desires to put a live plant into the pot. The description reads "solid bottom" but the label covering the predrilled hole is paper and will not stop water. This is a cut pot for artificial flowers and a message can be written on the chalkboard. Great idea for a craft gift for a sick friend or someone ill. A little pricey.
