Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent charger I own two of these and they are great I use them on a couple batteries I keep on charge. I also have 4 other smart chargers from various manufacturers that all have the same problem if the battery drops below a certain voltage they signal bad battery and don’t charge them even though the battery is perfectly fine and just needs charged also I have found if there is a power outage they actually drain the battery. Not with this charger it simply charges and maintains the battery no problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Good Quality This is a very good quality 2 Amp battery charger & maintainer. My only minor gripe is that the leads are very thin, which can lead to fraying over time. I don't keep this charger stationary, so hopefully the leads & internal wiring will last long. I have a Schumacher battery charger with a bit thicker leads than this Noco Genius. If all goes well, I will buy another one of these again. But, hopefully that won't be for a very long time. I definitely recommend this product.

The next time, I was checking the charge every 30 min. It was fully charged when the Genius said it was at 75%.

What happens to the mode setting if the power goes out & then comes back on? I have a AGM deep-cy...

What happens to the mode setting if the power goes out & then comes back on? I have a AGM deep-cycle 12V battery and will be using the 12V AGM mode......If there's a power outage, will the charger resume charging in 12V AGM mode or some other "default" mode? If the mode setting was a manual switch, I would not be concerned.....but with a button that cycles through the different modes/settings as it is pressed, I'm not so sure. Thanks!

When power returns, the charger will come back on in the last charge mode that was used.

Yes. Connect the GENIUS2 to your battery, select the correct charging mode, and the GENIUS2 will charge and then automatically maintain the battery as long as it is connected to the battery and to A/C power.

The literature states its a desulfator......yet there is no mode to select to desulfate. What gives ? How do you desulfate the battery then ? Is it automatic.......if so how do you know its in desulfation mode ?

The GENIUS2 desulfates during both the 12V and 6V charging modes. It is one of the first few steps in the charging process, if the charger detects sulfation in the battery it will automatically start desulfating during the charge, there is nothing that you need to do to activate it. The 12V Repair Mode that the larger models have is an additional mode dedicated to recovering heavily sulfated, stratified, old, damaged, and/or idle 12V batteries.
