However, I'm marking it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is not good in high traffic areas. I have the rug in my living room and it has flattened significantly in areas where people commonly place feet - such as when sitting on the couch. I think this is normal wear and tear for any shag rug so not a super big deal but this happened very quickly and I think it is because the shag itself is not very thick and not the best quality. You also need a very powerful vacuum to really clean it - otherwise it can look dirty fairly easily. Overall, still a good rug for the price and very pretty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it Love the rug. It isn't super thick or plush like the Safavieh Hudson rug we replaced with it, but it is a true cream color which was a main selling point. The pile is a little thin and you can easily see the dark backing if you comb your hand through the fibers, but it's not noticeable at all on the floor. If anything, the lower and thinner pile will be easier to vacuum than most shag rugs. It did have a pretty strong chemical smell at first which is the main reason I am rating 4 stars instead of 5. After a day or two it has aired out considerably and that is no longer an issue. I would recommend this rug.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What I needed, but not the highest quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is exactly what I was looking for. If you’re looking for a high end, thick, quality rug, though... this is not it. You get what you pay for, and again, for me the price was more important. I have 2 little kids and 2 dogs, so if I’m upgrading in a year or so, I don’t mind. I just needed a large, light rug to transform my room and it definitely did that.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful at first, degrades quickly [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When the rug arrived it was amazing and had a nice, cozy texture/feel. But after only a few months, the parts of the rug that get stepped on the most completely lose their shaggy texture and fall flat, and end up looking much different from the parts of the rug that nobody steps on (like under coffee table) - so you're left with a rug that looks very different depending on the section of the rug. I haven't found a way to get that original shaggy texture back - intense vacuuming helps the strands of the rug stick up a little bit (temporarily), but the strands all still look very degraded. I think the quality must not be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful rug. If you are on a budget and want this style rug which hit the decor scene not that long ago than this is it. However, do not mistake the quality. Its a big and beautiful rug at a great price but if you are looking for thick and plush you would be dissappinted with it. Other than that.. Just to soften the room with a large gorgeous rug then this will do the trick for sure. I ended up returning mine only cause i felt it would be out too far in a high traffic area and my husband wears shoes in the house and i can't seem to break him of it. So why waste the money letting the rug get dirty all the time by shoes. Otherwise i would have definitely kept it :) I didnt see any problems with it shedding. It was a true white.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great rug for the price Nice rug. I’ve got dogs and kids so was a bit nervous to get a white rug, but it’s in a low traffic area of the house and so far so good. My kid did get a few spots of spaghetti sauce on it within the first few weeks (of course!) but a few sprays of laundry stain spray and it came right out! Only four stars for two reasons. One, the carpet is not as thick as I would prefer, but it’s what I’d expect for the price. Two, THE SMELL WAS SO BAD WHEN I FIRST UNROLLED IT! The rug felt damp when I unrolled it from the packaging so I’m assuming the rug was sprayed with something before they wrapped and stored it in their warehouse. I laid it outside for a day and by then most of the smell was gone.

Hi Trint! Open the windows and led fresh air circulation run through your house. This will speed up the process. The smell shouldn’t last longer than a week. I don’t remember mine being that potent(the smell) so I didn’t pay much attention to it. Oh I guess you could get some aromatic candles with Christmas hint to distract your nose from the carpet smell until is gone. Good luck!
