Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Easy To Install! My wife and I could not be happier with our new ODL Add-On Blind! Ordering from Home Depot's website was easy, and free shipping was an added bonus! The product arrived well before the expected date, and was in good, unopened condition. When I noticed that it was missing the installation hardware (brackets and spacers), a quick call to ODL Customer Service got quick results. The manual says to call ODL directly as opposed to the vendor, and they certainly back their products. Installation was as easy as other customers tell it. The blind looks great, blind up and down action is smooth and very light blocking when fully closed. The whole installation took less than 15 minutes, and looks fantastic!

Very easy to install but because our door handles were very close to the window it has left a gap and we’re wondering how much condensation there will be this winter. However we really love them and gives us the privacy we wanted.

I followed a YouTube video... even if your not super handy you could install it. The product is constructed well. When installed it looks modern and nice. No more loose blinds flying all over the place when you open the door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Watch out for Ice Condensation or Build-up If you live anywhere that temperatures get cool or cold, do NOT buy these! I bought 3 last Summer for our patio doors. When the temperatures began to cool, we noticed condensation on door glass and of course, when the weather got really cold, ICE!! Now it is just a matter of time before I have to replace the doors. SUGGESTION: remove the original door glass inserts and replace them with new inserts that have built-in blinds. You'll save $$ in the long run!

They're tidy looking, and best of all, they don't move when you open or close the door. Make sure you get the right size and get help if you're not sure. My husband, who is very handy, ordered the wrong size. My store didn't carry my size, so I ordered on the website. They were delivered to my door.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just needs a few design tweaks ... We bought 2 of these summer of 2019 for our garden door. We get a lot of afternoon into evening sun on this door. The blinds went on ok after we realized the aluminum hangers weren't quite lined up to the slots in the top of the doors. So after some slight bendng of the aluminum by hand, the blinds finally grabbed on to the hangers. We love them for privacy and sun filtering. But the hanging design could be better. The biggest issue we had was over the winter, we didn't raise/lower them every single day and discovered they both stopped operating for raising/lowering the blinds over the winter. We took them off today, scratched our heads in confusion like crazy because it's a simple design; nothing was stuck. Did some deeper investigations and discovered the two magnets on the raise/lower mechanism were essentially glued to the magnetic strip at the top of the blind. It appears our strong sun exposure basically melted the glue (off the felt that makes the magnets slide over the strip easier) and the magnets were glued to the magnetic strip. We carefully peeled them apart with a butter knife and found the felt piece (it had migrated to the side lol), put the magnets back together but with that glue side in and decided to reattach the felt, because it does make it slide smoother. Can use a design tweak but now we know how to fix it when it happens again, because it will happen again lol ... Working like new now, great blind but just be aware this can occur.

Being able to easily pull down the blind, especially in the evening, on the full glass door, helps her to feel safe. Once we got the right size, it was easy to install!

Can these be installed on a door with lever handles without the need for expensive handle extensions which very few stores carry?

yes they can. The space is a little snug and you might catch your fingers in it occasionally, but the door handle works.

You won’t be able to use the add-on blind for your door. They requir a raised frame to clip onto.

Is this a complete unit with blinds inside a pane of glass, which would involve removal of the current window? Or is this something designed to screw into the door over the existing glass?

Interior glass measures 19" x 62" - Frame measures 22" x 66". Would the 20" x 64" blind fit?

Hello Keith, if I understand your question, the blind is part of the assembly and sticks out proud of the plastic window frame.  my window or glass dimensions are approx 19" by 63".  The plastic window frame is again larger than that by an inch or so.  This assembly fits perfectly over my existing plastic window frame. When I bought my house, the back patio doors have these inserts. On one side, the blind inside has broken and I need to replace the unit. The glass on the inside of the frame measures 21" x 63" & the outside frame is 24" x 65 3/4". Will this item fit?

We bought these 2 yrs ago. Great investment! I dont ever pull them up...i just rotate them open and shut. A little worried about the sun drying out the cords as ours is on south side of house. Hoping that will give them a longer life. I however went to the ODL website for help figuring out the size as I wasnt sure what to order. It was extremely helpful and we ended up with the perfect fit for ours. I strongly suggest you do that. Good luck. :)

Yes - - As far as I can remember these windows are very forgiving with their measurements. They are not rigid, but allow room for up to about 2" :)
