It doesn't fit perfectly at the bottom; this could be improved by either relocating the lower clips further down the blind or perhaps adding a clip of some type at the bottom of the assembly. Once installed, it looks like part of the door. The blind itself works great. What remains to be seen is how it performs over the winter months with condensation, frost, etc.

The blind provides a very clean look and appears (from a few feet away) to be original to the door, not an add-on. I've had several positive comments about the blind, about both the look and the ease of use, in the 3 months I've had it. Everyone said they've never seen one before (or even knew such a product existed), and some expressed interest in getting one for themselves.

I was able to hang this blind by myself but I had issues with the top ridge that is supposed to hang from the metal brackets you insert in the window frame. It was a very flimsy plastic slot and it wasn't cut right so getting it to slide over the bracket (while holding the window up and out) was difficult to say the least. That being said, it did the trick and I am ordering a second one for my other door.

You place this add-on blind OVER the existing half window of your exterior door. It comes with clear instructions and was easy to install. No more dated curtain or flopping around magnetic mini blind to deal with. The blind is fully functional and stays dust free inside the glass cover. I highly recommend.

Only criticism is the latch at the bottom of the door is not designed as well as it could to last. Previous unit I purchased 10 years ago had same attachment catch. It eventually failed and had to screw the frame directly to the door.

I called the number and the person who I spoke to, said that there are two kinds of Canadian made doors that they do not fit, but that you can retro fit the frame on the window to make it work - I have not yet found the retrofit component.

What is the total width after installation of the half-view standard add-on blind? My deadbolt is located very close to the raised doorglass frame (24"x38").

It doesn't take up much room. The width is 24 5/8. My husband trimmed the frame slightly around the deadbolt. One of the best products we've ever bought!

I have a raised slider window on my door, can I put the add on blind over it? I realize that I will not be able to access the window but I am ok with that, I just need to know if it will still go over the old window.

I have a window in my door.  My window has a 1/2 frame.  My window does not open.  The blind just clicked over this frame for easy installation and is easily removed for cleaning the window.  I love how the blind opens up completely when we want more light in.  Hopefully this is somewhat helpful.

How does this frame secure / attach / install to the existing door?

No, the add on style is meant to add over top of your existing glass. This product has only one pane of glass, your existing glass makes up the back pane.
