The brass Hose-Y enables you to use two hoses from one faucet, or one hose, by using the shutoff valve. The dual shutoff valves either completely shut off, or control flow of water from either or both outlets. The swivel hose fitting allows convenient orientation of the hose-Y by keeping shutoffs to the front.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shut Off I also got this 2 way shut off as I also have the 4 way shut off. These are so handy to use.You can move them and use them any places with one or 2 hoses. I have only seen the plastic kind never the metal ones,but don't waste your money on the plastic ones they do not work half as good as these metal kind. Metal does not crack like the plastic. Thanks home depot.ca for having these on line to buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Illusion of quality Thought I would spend the extra and get something quality that would last, solid brass etc. The problem is thiw valve is overpriced trash. Within one or two seasons of use I guarantee the nut will shear off making it unusable. The valves are stiff, which isn't usually a big deal, but the plastic handles are so tiny that opening and closing the valves is very difficult. It's too bad it's garbage, still looking for a quality Y valve.

Well, this is a classic case of a manufacturer using a poor design combined with shoddy construction. The female hose end is simply crimped on to its base....tighten up the connector to stop a leak and watch the knurled ring pop off the base. And then to provide even more customer satisfaction when you try to remove your garden hoses from the male end connectors the connectors unscrew from the main body and remain stuck in your garden hose. This is a really well thought out product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute garbage! Spews water everywhere. Have tried changing washers, using Teflon tape, nothing works. Need pliers to move the black levers either direction, on or off. Just junk. Will have to replace, but not from Home Depot.

I honestly can't believe how hard it is becoming to find quality products these days. This is QUALITY and built to last, the weight alone tells you a lot. Honestly feel like stocking up on stuff of this calibre before it vanishes completely.

how do knobs turn on

cannot get the two black knobs to move, is there a trick or is this unit defective

No there is no trick, when the Brass Hose Ys are brand new the knobs are often very stiff and require some effort to close. They will loosen up quickly after you open and close them a few times. If that doesn't work then the unit may have a problem.

I believe that these are only coated in Brass, but they are actually made out of Aluminum. What other materials are these components made of? Would there be any lead products within them?
