Rated 1 out of 5 by from R Values Details Pay attention to falsely stated R Value on Specification page!!!! Bought 18 sheets of this product. When choosing, I looked at the specification page where the R value is stated as 5. When product was delivered, the R values stated on it is 3. Called customer service, they said it states R 2.5 in the title. But the full title with that bit is not even visible when you browse, at least on a laptop. It still states R 5 under specifications. This is less a product issue and more Home Depot issue--which should become a regulator issue. You cannot describe product differently in two places and then go with the lower specifications because it suites you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Think Pink! I have been trying to find Pink Panther wall art for years now, but haven't had any luck finding something nice that is within my price point. Then I found these boards! Wow! It's pink AND it has an image of the Pink Panther on it. I don't know why anyone would go to some art store when they could just creep on down to the Home Depot, buy this attractive hunk of foam, cut out the pink panther using a rusty kitchen knife, and hang it on the ceiling above your bed. This is a great product! I understand that it also has insulating properties, but I have not tried it for this purpose yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect For Finishing Basement Project to finish my basement... Layed down Platon foundation membrane on the basement cement floor and then put the 1.5" celfort foam board on top of it and also on the foundation walls. Used PL300 to secure them to the wall and floor... and then tuck-taped each seam. This size foam board is perfect if you have existing 2x4's already secured down on the floor that you cannot remove.. It will allow you to to TapCon your sub-floor directly on top of the sub floor and existing 2x4's so that there is a seamless sub-floor right around the enitre basement area.. Then frame ontop of the sub floor to allow a complete water proof barrier..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough Stuff I buried 15 x 8 footers in 2 feet of backfill, all around the house when I installed a weeping tile pipe system. The C300 will deflect rain water away from the foundation wall, plus provide insulation to the foundation wall in winter. None of the pieces cracked or split during installation. Glad I went with the 2 inch thickness for strength and added R valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Codebord for nonconstruction uses At my company, we use this material for packing high value parts for shipment, and making mockups of 3D composite forms. With a utility knife and a straight edge, you can do a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great R-value to space ratio R5 per inch. You should definitely check the in-store price. My local HD was price-matching the blue foamboard from a nearby big-box competitor. My only surprise was to open up a 12 pack and find live flies & ladybugs crawling around, given that it's mid-November here in Ontario. It would be nice if these were sealed better and/or not stored outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality product Quality price Works As promised - easy to cut with a long bladed knife. Would be nice if they would discount the price once in a while as it’s a Cadillac price for a Chevy product. Can be expensive if you’re cladding a whole house or whole subfloor.

Would anyone recommend using this product, instead of a piece of wood in my window, when installing my window air conditioner? Will this be strong enough? Thank you for your time and help.

Asked by: MikeyMike
It depends, will the foam board be under pressure? As it is just foam it will not be able to hold an air conditioning in your window. But if your air conditioner is like mine and is screwed in to the frame then you are just looking for something to fill the gap this would work with tucktape around the edge to keep it in place. Just make sure it’s not in contact with the A/C exhaust as it can melt with a lot of heat.

Is this product water proof? I'm looking for something to put as a base for my above ground pool .

Asked by: Rosie
Yes, it’s waterproof, but this is very thin and would break or crack with weight on it, so it would leak.

Is this good for soundproofing? i'm planning on putting this on my basment ceiling between joists. My basement is unfinished right now and a bit of sound proofing between the main floor would be ideal. If not, can you suggest a product?

Asked by: AG82
I used this product myself for much the same reason and although it helped I would not say it provided a great deal of improvement.

What kind of caulk or adhesive will not cause this product to deteriorate or breakdown? I plan to use the rigid foam to fill in the rim joist and sill plate area in basement. I do not want to used spray foam. Thank-you

I have a raised ranch home...well above ground water level. Could I place this one inch styrofoam under 5/8 " tongue and groove plywood as a strong base for 4" wide planks of laminate flooring in my basement. Is this strong enough to roll heavy TVs over

Asked by: Michael
I think it woukd be fine as the weight would be spread out over the sheet with the 5/8 covering it. Couldn't seeit doing much to it.

Is it fire rated?

Asked by: Paint job
Hello Paint Job, Owens Corning Foamular product is a combustible product and must be covered by a 15-minute thermal barrier such as 1/2" drywall. Thank you for your inquiry!

Two questions: 1- Is this product paintable? Can I use exterior latex paint on it? 2- What type of gule should I use to stick it to the drywall? I want to paint it and stick it on the drywall in garage

Asked by: Bilal113
With all the research I have done on insulation I have learnt that rigid insulation should not be used as a finished surface. It needs to be behind any drywall so that it is protected from combustion. The chemicals in it become very dangerous in a fire situation, therefore by code it is not allowed to be exposed as a final surface. If used as a wall insulation it needs to be between the studs or on the exterior side of the sheathing under the siding.

Hi, can I get this cut at curbside pickup along with plywood? Like will they cut in curbside pickup, and is this Ridgid foam cuttable? Thanks

Asked by: abdullah shibly
For plywood, you would need to let them know so they can cut it inside. As for the rigid foam, yes it is easily cut pretty much like drywall, score and snap.
