Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid product This product worked great for the insulation work i needed done. It cut very easily with a fillet knife, and never had any small particles flying around while cutting. It is very solid and can be walked on with easy and works very well with construction adhesives ( PL brand). For the cost and its uses, I would say this is a very good product for sealing cantilevers and over hangs

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor service Two boards arrived damaged and unusable. Despite Home Depot's response that my complaint would be looked into I have heard nothing back after six weeks.

What kind of adhesive can I use to affix a polymer sheet to the topside of this insulation?

Asked by: jd44
Hello jd44, Owens Corning does not test adhesive, we would suggest checking the labeling and verifying the adhesive is compatible with extruded polystyrene. Please see link for our technical bulletin. https://dcpd6wotaa0mb.cloudfront.net/mdms/dms/EIS/10024851/10024851-Compatible-Adhesives-for-Foamular-and-Foamular-NGX-Techical-Bulletin.pdf?v=1621929051000 Thank you for your inquiry.

Can Foamular be painted?

Asked by: Salal
Hello Salal, if the Foamular is being used for crafts then it can be painted with latex paint. If the Foamular is being used as a building material, painting would not be an acceptable cover for the product. Foamular is a combustible product and must be covered with a 15-minute thermal barrier when being used as a building material. Thank you for your inquiry!

First let me say that I know this isn't the intended use for the product. Does this product have any sort of coating that would leech into water if used as a raft in a DWC aquaponics setup?

Asked by: Colin
Hello Colin, We do not test for this application, but we are not aware of any leaching from Foamular. Thank you for your inquiry!

can this product be used on basement cement floor

Asked by: Anonymous
Typically this product would be used under the slab, however there is nothing stopping you from using this product on the cement floor. This product has a compression strength of 20PSI and is R5/inch. It's certainly possible to install a layer of rigid foam on top of a concrete slab, followed by a layer of plywood. People do it all the time when they remodel their basement. If you decide to go this route, pay attention to the continuity of your thermal insulation at the perimeter of your house, where the floor foam meets the walls. Otherwise you'll end up with thermal bridging at this critical location.

Can this be painted? If so, what is the prep required?

Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Anonymous, If being used for crafts, oil-based and latex paints can be used with Foamular products. If being used in an interior construction application, painting the Foamular is not recommended as it will need to be covered by a 15 minute thermal barrier such as 1/2" drywall. Paint would not be an appropriate fire protection. Thank you for your inquiry!
