FOAMULAR Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) Rigid Insulation is made in Canada and offers a combination of characteristics that result in long-term thermal performance of R-5 per inch, compressive strengths of 20 100 PSI and exceptional moisture resistance. Using FOAMULAR insulation can create comfortable living spaces in basements, as well as minimizing heat loss or gain when using it on above-grade exterior walls and the interior of foundation walls. FOAMULAR XPS Rigid Insulation is lightweight and durable making it easy to handle, saw, cut and score.

Am I able to lay a Vinyl Plank floor directly on top of the insulation?

Hello Szucs33, Owens Corning does not recommend installing finished floor directly over the Foamular. We recommend to install a sub floor between the Foamular and finished floor. We recommend applying either ¾” tongue and grove or 2 layers of 7/16” osb with off-set seams Foamular is not structural and will not prevent punctures from furniture legs/feet, so a subfloor such as OSB is required. This is to prevent a large amount of weight hitting a seam in the subfloor and adding higher than expected weight through to the Foamular potentially compressing the foam at that seam. Is this product C-300?

Hello Nicole, Foamular CodeBord is a different product from the C-300. The main difference between the products is their compressive strength. The CodeBord has a compressive strength of 20 psi while the C-300 has a compressive strength of 30 psi. Thank you for your inquiry!

Hello Nagy, Foamular can be attached directly to the foundation wall. There should be framing over the Foamular to attach the drywall. Please check with your local building department for vapor barrier requirements. Thank you for your inquiry!
