Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb product I needed to change the existing cheap bathroom fan that transmitted terrible hum into bedroom above. This Panasonic fan is so well engineered that remodel was a breeze. Cut the drywall to the template, installed the included support bracket between joist faces, installed wiring into detached installation adapter and 4" duct into the same adapter (the removable adapter meant loads of hand room to do this right) . Screwed the adapter up against the drywall into the support bracket. Slid the fan housing up into opening and adapter, screwed up into support bracket. Selected speed. Cover on. Job done. Beautifully quiet with no noise at all being transmitted upstairs. Panasonic really thought this one out. You do get what you pay for. Went out and bought a second one for the washroom.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Frustrating The provided screws do not fit Z-bar railing attachment. I spent 2 hours cutting and prepping my ceiling to install this product. The final step was to attach the electrical box, exhaust hose and fan to the support railing. The screws would not fit through the railing at any location. I've tried everything and spent several hours working on it. I broke 2 drill bits trying to make a hole big enough for the bar screws and tried to assemble it outside the ceiling to verify. I now have a bigger hole in my ceiling than I started with, I have to unhook all the wiring and return this product. Epic waste of time. I have no idea how it even works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Fan I've installed 7 of these so far. It comes with an adjustable frame/track which makes it so much easier to install. I've install other fans that just give you pieces of wood/plastic secured to the ceiling dry wall as support if there are no beams to attach to. Reading some of the reviews about the sound, I think there is a misconception that it will be almost silent, but if there is good strong air flow you will hear air movement. The sound that irritates me is the motor vibrating sound which this fan does not have. I also like how you can choose CFM. Great fan, will continue referring them to people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bigger, Better and Quieter Our old fan was noisy and under sized. I had installed it prior to the ceiling being put in place. The hardest part of the job was removing the old one. Once out I used the template ( supplied) to locate and size the expanded opening. I cut the drywall and held my shop vac close to the cut which captured 90% of the dust. The new frame (supplied) fit right into place and the rest of the assembly was easy. The entire job took just over an hour but the installation part of the new fan was less than half that. The new one is quieter, more powerful and I love the results.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fan, but noisier than expected... It is a good fan and looks nice, however the duel speed option is on the unit itself, so if you want to turn it up or down for less or more airflow, you have to get a stool, take the cover off, and switch it manually. I'm not sure any option exists to wire it in with a switch on the wall. I've left it at 80CC (vs 100 or 110CC - can't remember the top speed) for now, but with a hot shower and high humidity in summer weather, it just barely keeps the mirror in the bathroom from fogging up. Also, the 80CC is noisier than I expected. I am happy with it (given my old fan was even noisier - at least I can't hear this one in my adjacent bedroom).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whisper Remodel 80-110 CFM Bathroom Fan Excellent, uniquely engineered, high quality product making retro installation a breeze. We bought three units & had the old ones out and the Panasonic remodels up and running in 2 hours. No need to damage ceiling just work through original opening (adjusted if necessary to 10 7/8" square). Before starting take time to inspect the product and read and understand the instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good fan but poor installation instructions. The product is good and quiet. BUT the installation instructions leave a lot to be desired. If the instructions had been more clear and complete I would have given it 5*.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product - not so easy to install The fan works well and it is very quiet. I installed two fans and after several weeks I am pleased with the product. I give it full marks for functionality. The installation instructions are not clear. I have been doing small renovation projects for several years and it took two of us to puzzle our way through the installation. Fortunately I had access to the attic space above the fan so I was able to do some of the work from above. I added some wood blocking to the sides of the opening and that helped to secure the unit to the rafters.

Can I assemble it on the wall?

Asked by: Rodrigo
It can work installed on the wall but It is intended to be in the ceiling and by design is supposed to be in a horizontal position. In a vertical position you may expect a premature wear of axle bearing, and some more noise/vibrations as time goes by.

Hi, I was wondering if I can wire this bathroom fan to my light in the bathroom. So whenever the light is turned on the fan will turn on and run continuously?

Asked by: Troy
A bathroom fan should run for at least 10 mins after someone has showered. Better to put fan on a timer if possible.

Is it normal for the damper to make noise (flapping) on a windy day? The unit is connected to the exhaust leading into a soffit vent that I doubt has a backdraft preventer. The builder quality Broan unit I took out didn't have this issue. Thanks

Asked by: Jasperdoo
I also vented mine to the soffit and have never had an issue with the flapper making noise. Are you sure that it is not the soffit vent flapping?

I found my 4 inch pipe connector is on right side of a edge, but Panasonic seems on left side. I have confuse how to replace my old one to Panasonic. Please advice.

Asked by: Eddie
Hi, both the electrical and duct connections are on the same side. Is there a way to turn the fan around to meet your duct connection? if not, you can always extend your existing duct to connect to the other side of the fan. keep in mind you want a smooth transition and avoid any sharp turns in your ducting
