Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great WITH AN IMPACT DRIVER These are excellent screws IF you drive them with an impact driver and impact bits. After reading the other reviews I reluctantly bought these because they were the only ones I could find this length in stock in all of the hardware stores in town. My 1st experience with them using my (excellent) drill was =terrible=. I stripped the bit that came with it within 6 screws and left one screw about 1/8" short of a good drive. I got a bunch of replacement bits (4 driver bits and 4 impact driver bits) and tried driving that bad screw and immediately stripped it (luckily, it is almost flush). So then I started asking around at work and the consensus was that if you were using a drill to drive deck screws you were an idiot and I needed to buy an impact driver. I had no idea what that is so out I went to get one. It's like an impact wrench (for car lug nuts, etc) but smaller torque. It applies the torque but at the same time the impact pushes =down= into the screw. So instead of continually fighting with keeping the bit engaged with a drill you can practically do it with your eyes closed. So get yourself the proper tools and get working! I finished my porch (about 200 screws) with a single drill bit and not a single mis-drive or stripped screw. ps. bits are available in driver and impact driver versions. DON'T use the regular driver bits in an impact driver - they shatter very quickly. pps. follow the composite board makers directions on a pilot hole - I used a drill about 75% of the screw diameter fully thru a 2X6 composite board. ppps. 4 stars out of 5 because I'm pretty sure the driver bit included ISN'T an impact driver bit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The worst These strip constantly. Used impact rated bits and drilled pilot holes and still went through tons of bits and threw away lots of screws. These cost me a lot of time and money on my project.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stock up on torx bits The good? They colour match well with basic composite colours, sit clean in the boards without mushrooming. You can also feel a lot of torque for the application. On the other hand, stripping of the bit and conversely the screws is a constant issue. Even with pre-drilling, there seemed to be no way around this. I had to use my impact driver, against the directions, and still spent about 4 bits on 80 screws! (On that note, it'd be nice if they carried smaller denominations for people using hidden bracket systems.) I'm not sure what the issue is, but as it stands I would bank on needing a lot more than the single bit included.
