Threaded inserts provide permanent machine screw threads in wood, plastic, soft metal or other porous materials. Threaded inserts are often used to replace worn wood screw or metal screw holes that have become oversized due to wear. Installed with a machine screw, bolt, hex key or screwdriver for those types available with a slotted head. Use flanged type inserts to prevent pull-through. Threaded Inserts prevent wood splitting and the need to use large screws in wood only applications. Use of the correct drill size is very important in order to allow the nut to collapse properly.
