Machine nuts are used in conjunction with machine screws in order to fasten metal parts together securely. To ensure proper fit and quality of life, make sure to use machine screws with nuts of similar thread size and finish.
Nylon insert lock nuts have a nylon nylon material located at the top of the nut. The bolt threads into the nylon material which helps prevent loosening from vibration. These prevailing torque lock nuts offer excellent vibration resistance and positive locking under severe shock. The nylon collar prevents liquid seepage and internal corrosion. Compressive forces exert constant friction grip on the bolt and prevent loosening. Nuts may be reused. Steel is zinc plated for moderate protection against rust.
Threaded inserts provide permanent machine screw threads in wood, plastic, soft metal or other porous materials. Threaded inserts are often used to replace worn wood screw or metal screw holes that have become oversized due to wear. Installed with a machine screw, bolt, hex key or screwdriver for those types available with a slotted head. Use flanged type inserts to prevent pull-through.
