Rated 2 out of 5 by from As Described The product is as described. However with only one foot of rebar it is not near as solid as inserting a 6x6 4ft down into a concrete sono tube. If your post is supporting a load. possibly this will not meet your needs

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works amazing for what its designed for!! I bought two of these and they work quite well doing exactly what they are designed for.. (VERTICAL load from a shed overhang) Not sure why all the 1 star reviews when you obviously used them for something they were not intended for..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor product I bought 15 of these for a fence that needs new posts due to rot, installed 2 and the posts are very weak. The one panel that was installed shakes so much that a gentle breeze will break it down. I do agree with the comment below by Anonymous these posts will break at the joint do not use these, save your self the headache.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product but does not come with fasterners. Have picked up a few of these for the fence that I am building. Works great and makes installation of fence post a cinch. The online description states "Fasteners Included". Post holder is only available in-store and does not come with any kind of fastener.

1. is this suitable for pressure treated wood? 2. is recommended to use 1 or 2 lag screws?

Asked by: Alastair514
Hello and thank you for your question. This post holder will be fine to use with AC2 treated wood but we don't recommend using it with ACQ treated wood. Secure the post to the post holder using four - 16d (3-1/2”) hot-dipped galvanized nails (one in each of the four small holes). Thank you!

What type of screws or nails do you recommend for attaching 6x6 deck posts? I've tried using 16d - 3 1/2 galvanized nails, but the posts don't feel secure in the holding.

Asked by: barrhaven
the holder is bigger than the post so you can put some Ceder shakes in to make it snug then nail. I happened to have 4" gal. nails so that was what I used.

Normally when setting a post directing into concrete, a 6X6 post would require minimum 10 inch hole diameter at a depth of 48 inch for frost line. Does this 6x6 post holder also require 10 inch hole diameter or could I set it in an 8 inch hole diameter?

Asked by: Jakester
Hi Jakester, the rebar that is setting in concrete attached to this post holder won't displace nearly as much concrete as a 6x6 post holder would, however the footing you pour will also serve as a counter balance for the whole assembly, so a larger base will result in a sturdier post, and if this is the depth of the frost line in your area then the same would still apply here. We hope this is helpful. Please feel free to contact us through e-mail at cservice@peakproducts.com, via chat our our website at peakproducts.com or toll free at 877-883-7325 at your convenience.
