Rated 5 out of 5 by from great price and a great product. can't go wrong when they are on sale. They are great for dog/pig/chicken/goats and maybe even horses. I wish home depot would sell the other various woven wire fencing products that go along with the T posts, like post pounders, fence clips, woven wire fencing, T post brackets and other various sizes of T posts. The T post is a very versatile easy fence install compared to round tube fencing where you need to pour concrete.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally awesome. This T-Post was totally awesome! It was described as being 7 feet long, and it was! It was also described as being in the shape of a T, and it was! Note that the colour, described as green, is actually more of a green. This could be used for steel chain link fence, but not necessarily. It could be used for affixing a number of other things, including additional 7 foot T-Posts. I have never been so happy with a T-Post.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the cost Have used these extensively to support fencing for goats on pasture. They are easy to set in the ground and best set with a post setter rather than a sledge hammer (does less damage to the top of the post). Compared to metal t=posts from some other vendors I have used, these are pretty hefty for the price and good value for the cost. They don't have holes in them to allow you to wire fencing in at specific points but have substantial 'nubs' along their length that will prevent fencing from sliding down the post over time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Posts Used For a Farm Fence I bought these posts to install a farm fence around my property. These posts were easy to install with a "post pounder". These posts are medium duty and do have some flex to them. I spaced my posts 8 ft. apart but I wouldn't feel comfortable spacing them beyond that. These posts could be improved if there were some holes in them to help with securing the fence. With the recent inflation these posts were still within my budget compared to other retailers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the T post These T posts are great. Over the last 2 years I have purchased nearly 50. I use them to support my newly planted apple trees and my electric fence to keep deer from destroying my vegetable garden. I rented a T post driver from Home Depot Canada. For some reason I can not buy a T post driver from The Canadian Home Depot. The T post driver is available from Home Depot US.

Can these posts be sledge hammered into the ground?

Asked by: Salal
Yes. If you're a good aim with a sledgehammer, and don't want to mar the post end, you can put something between the striking sledge's head's face and the post. I've used, wood, an old non-stick aluminum fry pan that it's coating had started flaking off, and, a disposable gas torch cylinder that had been drained and opened and had the top cut off so as to make a steel canister to slip over the top of a T-Post. But on a short run of post job I prefer to use a manual sliding tube post pounder (Got mine from Princes$ Aut0.). An old 20 lb. sledgehammer head has been ground down in diameter at one face and welded to the outer steel capped end of the post pounder to give the post pounder more mass, and a whittled down hockey puck has been inserted into the post pounder to all the way into the tube so as to be located under the steel capped end with the sledgehammer head welded on top of it. Three to six drops of the now weighted post pounder over a T-Post and voila, the post is quickly and easily pounded in the ground at least half a foot… The hard rubber of the whittled down hockey puck keeps a T-Post's end from being mushroomed by the post pounder impacting it. I suppose I should have patented this overall improvement to a manual sliding tube post pounder… If perhaps someone is concerned about scuffing a T-Post's paint with the post pounder, a dry lube such as PB Blaster's "B'laster Advanced Dry Lube with Teflon" could be sprayed onto the T-Post being driven by the post pounder. Sorry “PEAK Product Expert”, but using a rubber mallet to drive a T-Post into anything but sand is ridiculously hard and time consuming…

How difficult is it to drill holes into this post.?

Asked by: Brian
Hand drilling with a good powerful electric drill (Think: Half inch power drill.) might be awkward depending on where a hole is needed, but marking with a centre punch then drilling with cutting fluid and say a cobalt bit and taking your time and you should be good to go. As already mentioned, drilling a smaller pilot hole would be best. If hand drilling perhaps you could use or rig up a drill guide. If you have access to a drill press, all the better; again, depending on where a hole is needed. These posts are just common steel and as such not all that very hard; I don't know what their Rockwell (Hardness) rating is but they mushroom quite readily when hit on end with a 20 pound sledgehammer. It's been years since I've drilled a T-Post; but it can be done, and done relatively safely. Go for it, and good luck with your project.

The single pic currently shown is confusing. What does the whole post look like? Do you have more pics? Other angles? And is there something near the bottom of the post to step on to help drive it in to the ground?

Asked by: HandyHH
Hi HandyHH, we will work on uploading an image that shows the entire post. The entire post is the same profile as what is seen in the current images. There are no fins welded to the bottom of the post. Thank you!

Can we use this T Post for training grape vines ? Do we need to dig a hole drive in the post and stabilize it ? Thank you very much.

Asked by: Alex11
Hi Alex11, thank you for your question. This will depend on the soil conditions in your area. For most applications it isn't necessary to dig a hole first, the post can just be hammered in to the ground using a piece of wood block to prevent damage to the post. Thank you!

These t posts don't have the fin on the bottom. Isn't that what keeps it straight when it's in the ground?

Asked by: Kev1407
The distance that you drive them into the ground is what keeps them straight. That said, these don’t replace a solid corner post with bracing or additional solid posts every hundred metres or so on bigger jobs. If you’re just putting these around a small garden or something you could get away with just these so long as you don’t plan to put tension on the fence and just use a netting or something similar.

Steel galvanized then painted or just painted steel? Trying to compare this to product from another retailer. Why recommend driving T-Posts with a rubber mallet?! That'll just yield destroyed mallets! Driving manually? Sliding tube post pounders prevail!

Asked by: Craftsitt
Hello , Thank you for your question. Yes, it is made from heavy-duty steel and painted to protect against corrosion We recommend using a rubber mallet to drive these into the ground. this will avoid any damage to the finish of the product. However, if certainly can use post pounders if available. Please feel free to reach out to our customer care team at 1-877-883-7325 if you have any questions.
