Rated 3 out of 5 by from Leaves & Debris ON gutter rather than IN gutter. I installed this kit around the back of my house where we have heavy leaf and tree debris. Usually, it takes a good hour of power washing to clean out my gutters each fall. This kit reduced my cleaning time down to about 10 minutes using only a leaf blower. Don't be misled – debris will still pile up on the gutter guard due to its design, just not *in* the gutter. I would have preferred a completely flat-surfaced design so the debris just blows off, but this kit was the only thing that fit my particular eaves roughing. To be fair, the retaining lip in the design that prevents debris from just blowing away, also prevents rain from washing right off the edge of the house.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Did the trick I bought four of these as my house has a flat roof and the drains had no strainers of any kind. Most of the trees in my area have small leaves so I was concerned that the gap between the grating was too big. To supplement these I bought a small amount of screen door mesh and wrapped a piece around each strainer and then installed the ring. This worked great and allows water to still drain but nothing else to enter the drain. The included rings were slightly larger than my drains so because they are thin gauge aluminum I simply used a pair of scissor to make a cut from top to bottom. When I installed the rings into the drain the diameter could now be reduced and the ends just overlapped each other slightly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice gutter but use rivets! I followed Peaks instructions and ended up with a leaky gutter! The sections fit together poorly and when the joint hanger was screwed in gaps formed between the sections at the lap joints causing the thin layer of caulking to pull apart. I ended up assembling the entire gutter length (36') on the ground by caulking and clapping each lap joint and adding two aluminum rivets to the back (This Old House tip!) and one to the front near the top. I allowed 24 hours for the caulking to completely cure before moving the gutter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Peak Products 5" Aluminum Gutter Guard An incredibly ingenious design! An absolute snap to install especially for someone like me who is spatially challenged. The 4 ft. length makes it easy to handle - especially when you're up on a ladder or on the roof. Every length is a perfect fit and attached with only 3 self tapping metal screws. The Peak "Gutter Guard" is, in my opinion, the best gutter guard on the market. Superb construction, well priced and after 4 months of heavy rains, they work flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product but use some Philips screws Great product, better fit than the MHomes product. But I recommend you buy some SS Robertson pan heads so you can install one handed with the cordless drill. Phillips screws are a poor choice. But the actual gutter guard is great, good end to end recessed nested fit. Appreciated the pre-etched cardboard corner template. I would use again and recommend. I await to see how they do in winter and big storm events. But this locatoin is too high to clean from a ladder. I was able to install from the roof (using safety equipment)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ambivalent I decided to wait for a few months after installing before I commented. As previously mentioned by others, easy to install, fit into gutters nice and snugly, Canadian made, decent price point and really do work at keeping eaves troughs from plugging up. Unfortunately guards are stamped in such a way that when installed there is a sheltered 3/8 inch deep by approximately 2 1/2 inch wide "dead zone" the entire length of the trough. Pine needles in particular accumulate (pile?) in this dead zone restricting water from entering the gutter trough. So far I've taken the leaf blower out once a month to blow off the pine needles. If the top of the gutter guard were not "a dead zone" but were flat or convex, the prevailing breeze may have been able to blow some of the deterius away instead of me pulling out the leaf blower. I expected more from the product and wish I had researched other alternatives a little more thoroughly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost perfect Likes: Snaps into eavestrough until you can screw it down. Nests either over or under a drip edge, depending on where you are in the slope of the run. Holes small enough to keep out pine needles. No need to screw to (and compromise) fascia. Sloped side directs water away from fascia, preventing wood rot. Suggestions: It's easier to miter at corners if you follow the holes as shown in the template picture printed inside the carton. I'm surprised that the manufacturer doesn't prepunch 3 - 6 screw holes along the outer edge of each piece. Each piece looks to be punched before forming it. This would help guide the screw to the trough. Instead of phillips screws, buy a package of ¼" hex head self tapping screws and a magnetic driver bit. That's what the pros use, for ease, speed and safety. Use stainless steel Robertson® metal screws if rust is a concern.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product After struggling with the first section, I opted to pre-drill the flange for screw holes as I found without that, the screws skidded on the shiny surface. I also used Robertson screws, but then, that's what Canadians do!

Hi. I have a 42 foot length of gutter. If this fits under drip edge would the last half of the run be at a pretty severe slope and just drain the water over the side with a heavy downpour?

Asked by: Robin
The gutter guard does fit under the shingles that should already be extending over your gutter, so you should have no problem with leakage there. In a really heavy downpour there is potential, in theory, for the water to come off the gutter but i have not had an issue with that. I use a brush on an extended pole to brush away anything that might accumulate and I have not had to go on my roof for about three years and I was going up a couple of times a year previously. I did find gutter guards with smaller holes or mesh tended to have water come over them. These are the best gutter guards I have found I I have tested out a few types..

Wouldn't leaves, dirt, moss, pine needles, branch debris etc. accumulate on top this mesh which would block many of the holes in the mesh causing rainwater overflow during heavy rain ?

Asked by: cantrin
Any debris that sits on the top of the mesh just blows off, does not ever block the holes. Never over flows, I have them on my house and my cottage.

How do you install the gutter guard with a metal roof? Can you post the installation manual?

Asked by: pinky
These gutter guards are installed on your gutters (which channel water to the down-pipes). Your metal roof channels the water to your gutters. These gutter guards are excellent in keeping leaves from entering the gutters and the down-pipes.

Since these lay flat in the gutter creating a mini trough, it looks like debris will sit there eventually preventing water from getting in the gutter.  Other brands, like Easyon have a slope that looks like debris might slide off. Do either ot these clog?

Asked by: Roter
I was concerned with this as well, however I have found that leaves and needles dry on the guard and then blow off with the wind.

Can I use this as a soffit for my front porch which is 8x12ft with an attached turret porch extension?

Asked by: Allen
Hi Allen, Yes this would be perfectly feasible with this product, however as another member pointed out it would be best to use vented soffit to ensure ventilation is adequate. Thank you Allen.
