Bury 2” into the earth, held upright using bamboo skewers purchased from the dollar store. In London Ontario we have an ongoing squirrel infestation. Chipmunks are a recent pest in out immediate area. This simple deterrent works for us. Also, large red plastic beer cups with the bottom cut out and placed upside down over the new shoots (if the vermin haven’t chewed the shoots yet) works.

How well would this hold up in your gutters to prevent leaves from accumulating in there?

We suggest using our gutter guards which are available for 4" (Model # 5061|Store SKU # 1000685617) and 5" (Model # 5060|Store SKU # 1000685616) gutters. High-density polyethylene also known as HDPE. I also read this on an Internet search: What is HDPE fabric? Let’s start with HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene). HDPE is a fancy name for a product that is derived of plastic. Although it has a large strength to density ratio, HDPE in netting will not hold up to extreme persistent weather elements including heat, dryness or snow. I have read t is known and said to be a 'temporary fence or hardware net, but some may say it lasted them a long time.

I want to use this product to keep unwanted visitors out of my garden. What’s the best way to install this?

Any kind of support will do (wood stakes, tomato cages, etc). It is very flexible and can be secured with zip ties. Rabbits have been nicely foiled from attacking our roses with this approach. For larger areas, we opted for chicken wire.

The plastic is quite rigid. They would have a very hard time chewing through it I think. I have some all along the bottom of our fence to prevent our dogs are escaping and it’s been 4 years without any problems.

How much weight will it hold if utilized as webbing for outdoor patio chairs?

I would not use it for webbing for outdoor patio chairs. As a barrier it works well, to prevent an animal from entering a location. It works well keeping animals away from some trees, but as webbing you would be wasting your money. It is not strong enough to use for chairs. If used, you would fall thru the seat after using it several times. Buy a chair using regular webbing.
