Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Good I installed this item one year and did not see any improvement. So the next year I installed another strip under the original strip. All that this item did was add extra holes in my roof and did nothing for the moss.

Where is Moss Boss installed on the roof? Under the edge of the ridge caps?

Hi there, thanks for your question. Ideally this is installed as close to the ridge cap as possible, preferably under the ridge cap. This ensures the maximum effect of the product. Thank you!

Could Moss Boss stain or discolor a white 3 tab shingle roof? This is a new installation.

Asked by: Mike
Hi Mike, and thanks for your question. While we have never experienced any kind of staining or discoloration with this product, we suggest testing on a small piece of the shingle to be sure that it won't be affected. There is no pigmentation of any kind added to the zinc strip.

Moss Boss Installation On A Steel Roof

I am considering using Moss Boss on my steel roof, to affix to the ridge cap since I am unable to get it under the topmost row of shingles, as they are normally installed. My thinking is to use double-sided tape to affix the strips to the metal ridge cap, there is an ideal flat section which could be utilized for this. I could possibly remove the screws which attach the ridge cap to the roof and pass them through the Moss Boss for dual adhesion. Has this idea ever been tested by Moss Boss and was it successful? Also, to make the strips look less obvious on my burnt orange-coloured roof, I am considering cutting the roll in half for a thickness of approximately 1 1/4". Is this advisable? Monte
Asked by: Anonymous
Hello Monte, Thanks very much for your questions. What you are suggesting has not been tested with this product. In terms of cutting the roll in half, this would ultimately reduce their effectiveness with controlling moss growth. I would suggest contacting our customer service department at (877) 883-7325 to discuss your installation in further detail. Thanks again!

How do I kill the existing moss on my roof before installing the zinc strip?

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for your question, Existing Moss on the roof should be scraped off before installing the moss boss. Any left over residue from the moss will be killed by the zinc after installing the moss boss strip. For an Existing roof - Remove moss & fungus. Slip 5/8"of zinc strip underneath top row of shakes or shingles. For wood shakes, nail 1" from top of zinc strip. For shingles, lift shingle & nail zinc strip 3/8" from top. For a New roof - To conceal nailing area (top 5/8" of zinc strip), install zinc strip prior to installing top row of shakes or shingles. When finished, a minimum of 2" of zinc strip should be exposed. Nail every 2 feet & caulk nail heads. We hope that response helped answer your question, If you have further questions please reach out to our customer service team at 1.877.883.PEAK (7325) or send us an email at quality@peakproducts.com.
