Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall a good product AC unit works very well, reasonably quiet. Installation instructions are terrible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very disappointed about my air conditioner I bought an air conditioner (Perfect Aire) about 2 months ago. My unit does not provide cool air into my 400 square feet’s apartment. I did the installation exactly what it described from the manual owner that came with the AC. I tried my best to do everything to make the AC work for the full capacity. I put the AC into the coolest mode and lowest temperature for many hours but unsuccessful result. It had a little bit of water dripping inside the unit and accumulated on the bottom of it but there is no tube to let the water out of the AC. I even reinstalled the whole unit by inclined down more the end of the AC hoping that some water may drip out more from the bottom so the air could be cooler. I bought an air conditioner from Perfect Aire (Vertical unit model) for about 8 years ago and I was really happy with the one I had before. So, I decided to buy another AC from them again since I had a good experience in the past. I think something is wrong with the new model version and I am not happy with my purchase. Now, I am stuck with an air conditioner that does not provide cool air and I don’t know what to do with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Year-round use of our attic lounge / bedroom now Installation of the white screen on top of the unit was tricky given the design of our window (and likewise when I'll remove it for the winter). But the unit efficiently cools our attic lounge / bedroom. The unit is not super quiet at night, but by setting the fan to "low" it's fine. There is also a "night mode" but we don't use it as it increases the room's temp. You have to take your time reading the instructions, but that's the case for all units. The main thing is that it works well and is designed for horizontal sliding windows. So 4 out of 5 because 5 would mean easier installation and better design for the white screen; and less noisy. But 4 because it does cool a room that is usually not usable during the summer months. And it's specifically designed for horizontal sliders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Ordered This window style air conditioner is exactly as specified. It was delivered in a timely fashion to my residence. The installation was a breeze. The unit is relatively quiet and has a number of features including an Energy Saver setting. All in all good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only for 2x4 walls Works well, however not meant for installation with 2x6 walls. We made it work, but would have been nice to know beforehand. Outside support seemed a little flimsy to us, so we reinforced. Unit has worked as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good unit Great unit. Pings a bit on the outside when water collects in the tray, but runs well.

Does it cycle on and off with an adjustable thermostat?

Asked by: Jason
My unit has a "follow me" feature. When enabled, it will use the remote control as the temperature sensor, so, you can put it wherever you want and it will cycle off when the remote control senses it has reached the set temperature. Very handy!

I want to make sure this unit does not need to be taken down during the winter. the one we currently have is permanently in place all year

Asked by: Fox Fireblaze
When we bought ours, the Home Depot associate we spoke with recommended we remove if for the winter - which we are doing. It's a pain for sure, but the unit will last longer I guess; and it's nice to have light through the window during the winter months.

What is the manufacturer's warranty, 1 and 5? Is the warranty for in-home repair?

Asked by: MLOUR
Manufacturers Warranty is for one year. Lots of things covered as they pertain to the unit itself such as damage in transit, internal problems etc. They request only that repairs be made by a qualified technician.

anyone figure out how to remove the front? the instruction manual just says to remove the two screws and pull gently, but it never moves on the bottom half for me. I'd love a video of it in action to know what I'm doing wrong!

Asked by: dave
I don't understand if you want to remove the filter or if you want to actually open up the front of the conditioner. If it is to remove the filter, I have a video.

Does this comes in installation kit or accordion side panel?

Asked by: JOJO
There is no accordion side panel. It comes with a plastic kit that envelopes it in most windows. I had to make a small wooden screw strip for the bottom and side to lock it in. Suffice to say there are many designs of windows and you may have to adapt somewhat.
