Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cools well, but needs major drainage This is a single-hosed model, which isn't entirely clear from the specifications. It cools well though in my space and the install was relatively painless for my old windows. I like having the remote to accompany it; it's a nice feature. However, unlike previous portable models that I've had in the past which didn't require any draining, this model produces A LOT of water. Every 6 hours or so, the machine produces about 10 litres of water which must be drained by hand (I use a bucket). I recommend a big bucket or something to catch spill-over as cooling overnight can lead to overflowing.

How does the unit drain? Does it require a floor drain?

Thank you for your question, the machine includes a fan that will evaporate most water without a drain. On high humidity days or environments, the unit's water reservoir may need to be manually drained from the bottom port either through a floor drain or by rolling it outside; An error code will show on the screen if the machine does need to be drained.

Can you add an extension onto the vent hose to make hos longer?

How large is the water containment bucket in the unit itself?

Thank you for your question! The unit is typically self-evaporative; On high humidity days or during initial setup, water may collect inside the 1-cup water reservoir on the bottom of the machine. When full, an error code will show, and then it can be manually drained from the bottom port.
