Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loud buzzing sound I bought two of these bulbs. Both were buzzing very loudly. There is no way you can have it in a light fixture and not hear the noise. I use CFLs throughout the house, and some of them buzz slightly and can be tolerated. These LEDs cannot be tolerated. I returned one and installed the other one into the garage door opener, replacing the only remaining incandescent bulb in the house (because it works much better in the winter than a CFL in a cold garage). Let me tell you, even in a garage, the buzz noise when it comes on is immediately noticeable and sounds like a piece of HVAC equipment running in the distance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good value but they make some noise! The bulbs are priced well but I can hear them buzzing quietly when house is dead silent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light for a great price I used the energy coupons for this purchase which made the bulb very inexpensive. I used 2 of them to put in my garage door opener lights. They are very bright and do a great job. They are just like the incandescent bulbs in colour and actually much brighter.

Are these LED's suitable for installation in an enclosed fixture?

Asked by: dibbit
Since LED bulbs do not produce as much heat as the halogen/incandescent bulbs, LED bulbs are totally suitable for installation in an enclosed fixture.
