The WiZ LED A19 full color bulb brings smart lighting for your daily living. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Limited capability I tried out 6 of these bulbs on the outside of the house to add some christmas color. They are quite limited in what they can do, don't expect to put on any cool light shows with these bulbs. There are some packaged themes in the app, but there is no way to customize patterns or color changes to your own liking. Maintaining connectivity seems to be an issue, I had them all online then two of them disappeared (they were closer to my wireless router) and I could not get them back online. If you want just a simple colored light and have strong wifi, this may be fine, but if you want to have anything more than that you may be disappointed.

I've used a lot of tech products and gizmos in my time and I have to say this may have been the easiest setup of any connected wireless device I've ever purchased. The mobile app for managing them is also a model of how to make technology think like a person, rather than the other way around. Oh, and the actual bulbs not only do what I expected but actually more than I even realized they would. Great job all around. Very impressive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great once properly connected to network My hunch is that most people scoring this product low because of pairing/connection issues either did not read or did not understand the clear instructions that a 2.4GHz (not 5GHz) Wi-Fi band must be used during the pairing process. This was my problem as well. Check the troubleshooting guide on the WiZ website or find a relevant YouTube video to resolve the problem as it only takes a minute. Once I finally figured out what I was dong wrong and how to fix it, the lights paired immediately and everything has been smooth ever since. The only thing holding this review back from being a 5/5 is the fact that the lights and app won't automatically pair using a 5GHz band, thus saving many people some frustration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Satisfied I've used these lights in conjunction with a good mesh WiFi system and I've had no issues with them. It's possible they need a good router signal to work well. I've got them set up exterior as well as interior. For the price, they are a heck of a deal compared to the Hue lights.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 8 out of 10 bulbs do not work Very unhappy with this product ordered online and received them the next week and I started to do my home setup by installing the bulbs into my light fixtures and then testing with the switch to make sure the bulbs would light up before doing the wifi app connection only 2 bulbs would turn on so I installed with the wifi app and they work perfectly but the other bulbs would not turn on so no way to install with the app so I tried the bulbs in the same socket that was successful with the other bulbs and they still will not turn on. I am returning my full order for a full refund and will purchase else where

I have experimented with several of the non-white colours as background lighting for Zoom calls, but I find the darker colours are not bright enough. I generally stick to the range of whites and adjust the warmth of the light depending on the time of day, which works well. Integrating the Wiz app with my Google Home setup was easy. It's faster to ask Google to turn on/off or adjust the lights than using the Wiz app. The initial setup was not easy. The automatic setup would not connect, so I had to use manual mode and temporarily disable the 5ghz band on my router. Still took 2 attempts before the light finally connected and I could revert the router setup back. Since connecting, I haven't experienced any other Wi-Fi issues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not work/pair Bulbs may be good quality but the app is terrible. Had to install it twice to get it to start, and even after that, the lights will. not. connect. Approximately 10 feet from router. Both bulbs I bought could not be discovered or connect. Tried both the auto and manual connection methods. Did nothing but waste an hour and half of my time. There are dozens of people complaining on the app review page as well. Apparently they came out with a new version of it several months ago and it's been nothing but problems for people ever since.

You can customize your default shade of white, change them to any color you like, dim them without having a switch, control them with your voice, and easily create or change scenes that push to google assistant without having to disconnect and reconnect your whole account. I'm going back to replace every other bulb in my home with these and ditch the smart plugs I currently use.

Is this bulb suitable for inset pot lights?

Not the most ideal bulb as most of the light output will be lost to the back of the pot light. you would be best to use a reflector lamp or downlight that is designed for pot lights (GU10, R20, PAR30, PAR38) depending on the diameter of your pot light.

I have a ceiling fan with 3 lights that I'd like to use this with, however it's got a remote dimmer installed in the fixture. Will these bulbs still work in the ceiling fan if I leave the wireless dimmer set to highest brightness setting?

Dimmers, even at full power modify the electrical sine wave and can cause issues with LED drivers that are expecting non-dimmed power. It might work but there is a much larger charge you'll damage the bulbs and they'll fail prematurely

I have a ceiling light that has a cover over it, will these smart bulbs work in that ceiling light? ALSO can I use these lights in my desk lamps?

I use them anywhere I had previously used a regular-sized A19 incandescent bulb. In bedroom ceiling fixtures, in an enclosed kitchen globe fixture, and in a larger reading lamp. The only issue with a desk lamp would be if it currently takes this (very typical) size bulb. The wifi connection seems fine in all these locations and my Google Home thingies control them as expected.
