Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tons of features and no hub required!! I have to admit that I have never heard of the brand 'WiZ' before. I have a few Hue bulbs around the house so I am quite familiar with smart lights functionality and expectations. when I opened the packaging inside was the bulb and a instruction manual which I tossed instantly. The bulb is larger than your standard A21. I put the bulb in my lamp and downloaded the WiZ app on my Android phone. I created an account and started the process to add my smart bulb. The whole process took about a minute, it was really fast. I started playing with the app and was surprised at how many functions and features it had, and the best part is that the features are free unlike some custom features with the Philips Hue bulbs. There are tons of mode like White, which you can choose from warm white, daylight, cool white, night light, and custom white. There's the Simple mode which lets you choose from Cozy, Relax, Plant Growth, TV Time, and more. There's a Dynamic mode which has a bunch of presets to choose from where the colors cycle and you can even choose the speed at which it cycles. There's also a 30 minute Progressive mode for wake-up and bedtime. The last mode is Celebrations which has Christmas and Halloween. Another feature in the app is Energy Consumption which show you the energy consumption per room for all your WiZ bulbs. The app is so feature rich that it boggles me how Phillips Hue costs 2-3X more, requires a hub and doesn't have half the features of the WiZ app and bulbs. I was also able to set this up with my Google Home but you are only able to change colors and brightness through Google Home. You can't set any of the Dynamic scenes like in the WiZ app. If you're hesitant to try these bulbs because of lack of reviews or manufacturer information I can tell you that these bulbs are great and I'm thinking of swapping out my Philips Hue bulbs and ditching the hub.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Buzz buzz little bulb While the functionality of the light itself and the app are fairly good, there are two downsides that to me are fairly significant. Using the app to turn off the light means power is still going to it, and they often have a low buzz. Since I'm using them as bedside lamps, this buzz is super annoying when trying to sleep. The second issue is the wifi isn't great in my back room, so they lose connection with the app constantly, meaning I need to use the physical switch to turn off/on and they lose all the extra functionality. Due to these two things combined, they've basically become just normal lamps with extremely expensive bulbs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy setup with some privacy concerns After setting up the light with the Wiz app and being required to provide some location and wifi info to an unknown company, I was a little skeptical of the light fixture. Not to be a conspiracy theorist or anything, but sharing my wi-fi username, password, and location with a lightbulb from China left me uneasy . After using it for a bit, it seems to do what it's advertised to do. Some of the light settings seem to make the light flicker a bit, but not all the time. To fix this I just adjust the colour setting to one that doesn't flicker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong Colours, Soft light and Very Dimmable! I initially had issues with connectivity and found that the bulb had a constant buzzing. I was able to chat with support through their app, and found out the issue was that the socket I had installed it in had a dimmer. Even though the dimmer was set to max brightness, this caused the issue. Once I used it on a non-dimmed circuit, the bulb worked beautifully. Completely silent, instant response times and fast setup/linking. The app is well designed and easy to use. I also have it linked to my Home Assistant smart home, and I use it change colours to notify me of alerts. Ie. Doorbell, Water leak, Unlocked doors etc. I've very happy with it. One feature that I really like is that it dims VERY low, which is uncommon. It has a night light level that is perfect for night time baby feedings when you don't want to wake up the little one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best smart bulbs Been using these for a couple of months and I can say confidently they are great lights. The RGB colours are bright and vibrant, and the white is bright as well. The lights also stay connected reliably 98% of the time, I've only had one disconnect briefly. The app for the lights is great and they can easily connect to Home Assistant. The 100W bulb is nicer than the lower wattage bulbs because it is a lot brighter but the A21 size is fairly large.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great, for maybe 1 week... Installing the light was quick and easy, using the app to connect to it. Used iPhone, Android and Alexa and all worked beautifully and easy. And the light looked beautiful with many different color settings. My wife loved it. BUT, after about 1 week (or maybe 2) it just stopped working. The Wiz app and Alexa couldn't find the light anymore. Reset it a few times (by turning the light on/off 5 times), and then finally after much frustration (an hour or so) got it working again with the Wiz app. But could never get it working with Alexa again. And just 1 day later it stopped working again with the Wiz app just saying "This light is unavailable". The light still can turn on and off manually, without the app, but then it's just a very bight led lightbulb with no dimming or color features available. If only the wifi of the light was done better and more reliable, with more focus on the wifi setup and keeping it connected (or an easier reconnect process), we would have loved this light and given it 5 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Review Product was easy to setup and link with Alexi. Setup is easy and links to Alexi easily. One concern is providing location info etc. to Chinese company. During set up if you choose do not share the setup fails. So you don’t have a choice but to share info. Having 16 million colours available may be true, who would ever know the difference. Once linked to Alexi, use Alexi to control etc.

Does this smartbulb remember its colour/brightness/wifi password when the power is cut, then reverts to that state when the power is restored?

A power loss is the same as someone turning off the wall switch that controls a fixture that houses a wiz bulb. The bulb does not ‘forget’ anything. When power is restored, the bulb will turn on and revert to the settings previously established which may include a schedule, a default color or shade of white, dimming level, etc. In light bulb settings, there are two BASIC there, when you select WiZclick, you fast switch on once or twice will lead your light to favorite mode 1 or 2. if you select "last status", it disable the Wizclick, your light will simply remember the last mode used.

Will this bulb work with the Hue bridge? It is a Philips product isn't it?

This item does not work with the Hue Bridge. You need the blue tooth bulb for that and not the wifi bulb. Hope this helps.
