If you follow the lightning directions it works great. You do need to leave the door open longer than I was used to on my old stove. My last stove would only burn for three hours, but I regularly get 7-8 hours now.

I've now been through one heating season with this stove and am overall very pleased. I've heated mostly with firewood for 40+ years, this is my fourth wood stove, and easily the best of the bunch. It just burns really well and the fire view through the big glass door is superb. Clearly the air induction system is excellent. I wanted an EPA certified stove for environmental concerns and this does burn clean. The neighbors will see no smoke coming from my chimney except maybe 15 minutes during warmup and a few minutes after refueling. Easy to start, it heats up fast, and if it's lots of heat you want, just fill the firebox with dry hardwood, open the damper and this baby will cook and she don't mean maybe. You won't be sitting too close, I assure you. (I do have a precaution though - see below.) To manufacture a stove in the USA at this price point, GHP Group obviously had to economize where possible. Fortunately they built in all the most important aspects of a wood stove. I do have a few quibbles though. The owners manual warns that the paint will take a period of time to cure. Right. After about 10 days of burning I figured it would be cured and decided to wipe dust off the (cool) stovetop with a paper towel. I wiped the paint right off, it was like black dust. A couple more weeks and I could still wipe it off. I have to repaint the stovetop. When you get the stove you have to push/screw the chromed spring steel handles for the door and damper control onto their rods. The door handle went on OK but now it is loose and can fall right off. The damper handle was so tight I could not get it on. In desperation I finally heated it with a blowtorch to soften/expand it enough to go on, which of course damaged the chrome finish, but it has stayed on their tight. I don't use the blower as I want the heat to go straight up through a floor register. I like the ash drawer but rather than poking the ashes down the little hole in the stove bottom, I find it easier to just set the drawer on the floor in front of the stove and use my little fireplace shovel to shovel the ashes in. I mentioned above how hot this stove can burn. I didn't put a damper in my smoke pipe assuming it wasn't necessary. I may install one. Even though the door gasket passes the dollar bill test, tight all around, the stove will draw some air around (or through?)the gasket. With the stove burning hot and the door shut tight, you can slam the damper fully closed and it will continue to burn hot and only slow down slowly. I know the door leaks air because rarely I have a downdraft in my chimney. When this happens I build a small fire in the back of the firebox, damper open, slam the door shut tight and wait for the heat to reverse the chimney flow. During these few moments, considerable smoke pours out around the door into the room. I consider these flaws to be miner in nature, more than offset by the excellent heating and burning characteristics and beautiful fire view.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great New Stove We upgraded from an older wood stove and have seen a definite decrease in amount of wood we burn. We are still learning how the new stove 'likes to burn'. The burn box is smaller than we are used to so it is a bit more difficult to remove ash while the stove is running. The attached blower moves a decent amount of air. We are unable to comfortably hear the TV with the blower turned all the way up; but about half-way works. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The stove is ok, burns well, like the glass window,... The stove is ok, burns well, like the glass window, minimal assembly. that’s the good...on with the rest of the story. I felt a bit misled regarding the fire box, the manufacturer says it’s a large fire box, and covers 2,200 square feet, and has a long burning time. I’ve been running this stove for two weeks, it does not have a long burning time, max about 3 hrs, and the fire box is not large, but rather small. Not able to get a lot of logs in. I will be reaching out to the manufacturer and express my disappointment... hoping they will trade it in with a bigger stove. If they make good on their promise, I will revise my review.
