Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good boards if you take your time... I got what I expected, but there was a wide range of quality so it took some time to find the best beams that weren't warped or split

Is this product Green or Kiln Dried. Went to the porcupine website and they indicate they provide 5/4 deckboards in both.

Asked by: ChrMci
Kiln dried. Use oil based stain only as latex will peel and a redo will be an annual event.

Is this wood treated or untreated? I want to use for a raised garden bed.

Asked by: Andy
Untreated. I sanded and stained it for my deck, looks great.

What size joist do I need

Asked by: Vince
Hi Vince, Thank you for your question. This is a question that needs to be answered through your local building code. I can tell you that for 5/4x6 decking the joists will have to be 16" on centre if the decking is run perpendicular to the joists. If you are doing a design or running the joists on an angle then the joists would have to be 12" on centre. Steven

When using this material for a deck how far apart can the joists be placed?

Asked by: skylar125
16" centres unless you are installing on diagonal, then 12" centres
