Rated 3 out of 5 by from Barrel size and trigger happy issues No doubt is light and small, and at 100psi is driving 10d Simpson 3-1/2 nails in seasoned pt with no problems. BUT.....16d won't fit Other issue is that could be labeled trigger happy - best is to guide the nail into location and then get the nailer in position - I had a couple nails flying out of my hands, when placing the nail into the shaft and then align to hole/ Iocation It will overdrive a nail too if you are not careful In sum, nice little tool, but I need better

can you use this with roofing nails

can not find a answer for this

It's going to depend on the size of the nail head. I used mine for just about any size nail so far and its worked every time.

Will 1 1/2" galv roof nails fit this? Roofing nails have a wide head then typical framing nails. I need to use 1 1/2" roofing nails to install tile roof batten boards.
Asked by: JACK
The answer is no,they will not fit, however, roofing nails are not the right nail to use for that application. Instead you should use a 6 or8 penny galvanized box or common nail instead, they will fit no prob! This is a good tool and holds up well.

Is it the piston or o-ring that fails commonly on this tool? The palm nailer is super handy and I usually prefer porter cable tools, but I have had one fail out of the box and one fail after about 10 nails.
Asked by: cc
I read that it is the o-ring

Will it work with 2" headless finish (used for manual nailing) nails, 1/8th or 3/32th diameter? And how big is the imprint of the hammer head when countersinking those nails?
Asked by: Wolf
I used it on 1" finishing nails and it worked great. Have to hammer it in a little to get it started but worked fine

can this be used to counter sink nails in deck lumber for sanding?

Asked by: dmu
depends on how deep you need to go. the tool isn't capable of countersinking very deep and is not designed for this application and I have never tried so I cant be 100 percent sure but I have used the tool on occasion but never payed attention as to its ability to counter sink, the softer the wood the greater the success

Can this be used for L or T shaped cleats?

Asked by: Jay
I dont see why not if the nail fits in the collar of the nailer. I prefer hex head screws for metal cleats however. I think they hold better than nails.
