Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wish I could give a zero I bought this unit 2 years ago the first year I bought it at the end of the year so it only has about one year of use roughly 20 hours right out of the box I noticed the quality of this Product was lackluster it's surprisingly heavy for its brittle feeling when you're running it the vibrations through the handles would give my wife a headache and it was too heavy for her to push I went to use it this year which would have been the second season of it and it didn't start so they blame that on stale gas which there was none of took it in cleaned out the carburetor found that when I got it return the electric start didn't work I have gone in purchase the new snowblower because I could get absolutely no support from customer service and they did not stand behind their product at all I'm extremely disappointed in this unit and can't recommend enough for other people not to purchase it spend the extra couple hundred dollars and get a name brand unit

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good leaf blower, but it might work on snow! I'm asked to do a review of a snow blower while there is no snow to try it on. I've started it. It works. But it doesn't blow leafs very well ;) ... Trust me, I've tried. I might change my mind when trying it for real this winter ;)

The instructions were the worst I've ever seen. Assembly instructions were in tiny type, referred to items in very technical names that a normal person couldn't figure out, and referred to tiny diagrams that were totally illegible. I had to put it together by trial and error and take it apart 3 or 4 times until I figured out what to do. It's advertised as electric start but included no power cord and no oil. I emailed PowerSmart and they told me to use a regular extension cord. Of course, I found out a regular extension cord does not fit as the 3rd prong on the snow blower is too big to fit. It hasn't snowed yet and I haven't tried to even start it yet. I need to get the oil and find a cord that fits. I hope the machine runs OK but I can't tell yet. Do better PowerSmart.

Does this machine require a battery or electric cord to start

    Asked by: blackie
It can also use a AC electric ( regular power extension ) cord to start if your do not want to pull start the gas engine. In our experience, the gasoline engine is easy to start if you set it up correctly according to the manual, usually it starts within 3 to 4 pulls cold.

Re: Powersmart snowblower, model # DB7651SL. What type of oil or grease s/b used for the gearbox, or is it greased for life? Any written maintenance/or instructions/or video will be greatly appreciated because I cannot find any info re this.

    Asked by: Ash 27
I believe that the unit is lubricated for life, however, some times people have to service their own units for peace of mind. If you wish to service this gear box, get a synthetic EP1 or 0 to do the job. Remember not to over fill the case as this will create more problems than it will solve.
