Just remove flange adaptor from spout.

  1. Thread onto nipple extending from wall until snug.
  1. Install spout into the adaptor and rotate clockwise until flush with the wall.
  1. Adjustable thread connect spout, fits either 3/4" NPT or 1/2" NPT pipe with included reducing adaptor. Features 1" telescopic adaptability for pipe extending 3/4" to 1-3/4" from the wall for the easiest installations. Celcon Thread-Connect Chamber allows spout to mount flush to the wall for a neat, fast job. Durable metal construction for long service. Simple NPT Pipe Installation

Is this pull diverter spring loaded like the Brasscraft Mixet tub spouts ? Is there a benefit to the front as opposed to top configuration of the diverter ? Thanks, Robert
