Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible product purchased and installed for about a year no issues vaccume breaker float has broken causing major leaks and loss of pressure And HD does not carry replacement parts! So the option is to tear out the whole assembly reconnect pex etc. If you carry a plumbing product provide repair parts!!!!! They only carry the screw caps

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy setup I replace one that the vacuum breaker was leaking with this one. Works great, easy installation. I gave 4 star because it's only been a month. Time will tell if it deserves the 5th star.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended I installed this hydrant very carefully, but unfortunately it leaked at the push-in connection and water spewed out of the vacuum breaker. On disassembly, I found a damaged o-ring in the slip connection, despite chamfering and smoothing the end of the copper pipe. Not sure why the breaker leaks so badly, maybe it is missing a part. Product comes with no instructions re pipe prep, insertion depth, breaker function, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding product and easy installation I've installed dozens of these frost free hose bibs over the years. This item is without a doubt the easiest to install. Bulletproof design, solid construction, versatile connection, great reliability...you couldn't ask for more! I've installed two on the exterior of my house in Guelph. Within two months, a dozen neighbours wanted their fixtures upgraded too. Just verify your slope. Installation takes less than 15 minutes.

Installed this after our last vaccum breaker broke. The water pressure is less than half of what it used to be, without the valve it is fine, pipe is clean. With the valve no pressure. Could the mechanism be defective?

I just replaced an old wall hydrant with this one and now the water pressure is about half what is was before. Any suggestions?

    Asked by: joe76
The issue could be stemming from which type of pipe you are using copper or plastic pex pipe? If your pipe is copper you will need to remove the the white insert tip at the end as this will reduce water flow on a copper pipe. If your pipe is a pex plastic pipe you will need to keep the white insert tip on which will be inserted into the plastic pipe as a stiffener to ensure the pipe stays open completely for full water flow. Hope you find this information helpful. Thanks for the question.

wall hydrant with vacuum breaker leaking from top cap ,can this be fixed or does it need to be replaced

    Asked by: wayne
The vacuum breaker can be removed and replaced. However, we find that many people find it difficult to install a new vacuum breaker correctly, or they break the new one during installation - so those who are uncertain should replace the hydrant. As well, to prevent one potential cause of this problem, please ensure that the wall hydrant is installed at the correct angle, using the plastic shim that was provided with it.
