Yes they come as singles depends on span between stringers if using 2x they work better,deck boards are thinner DEPENDS on span between stringer. My steps were 72" wide used 4 stringers with 5 1/4 deck boards with carriage bolts. Good luck.

Hello SIr, We do make from 1 to 7 steps in one pieces, if you with to go over that ( from 8 to 14 steps ) you can use our steel stringer connector to do so. Home Depot Item No.: 308771972 Anything else, please let us know. Thanks

How do you secure the stringer to a concrete landing pad- what type of screw/connector and what is the methodology.

Hello Sir, We do not recommend to fix the bottom of the stringer, simply fix the top portion to your deck / patio. If you are in states where there's no frost, you can fix the bottom using tapcon style screws. Anything else, please let us know. Thanks

For a 36” wide stair you could go as wide as adopt 34” (depending on how much overlap you want. The pdf install guide provided on the homedepot page for this product gives good details on installing guidelines.

Hello SIr, To fix the riser to your deck we do recommand to use two 7/16" diameter lag screws or bolt x 3" long. To fix the step from underneath we do recommand to use #10 x 1-¼" or 1-½" wood screws. Anything else, please let us know. Thanks
