Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not completely ready to install. Seems to be decent quality. My issue was that we are connecting several stringers together, and bought all the correct parts. What wasn't clear when I ordered was the need to drill holes and such. I guess that I can possibly understand why - people might squawk about the unused holes being visible? So, I found myself working out-of-hours, and without the correct metal drill bits, and that was irritating. Not a deal-breaker, but should have been clear (or possible I simply missed that in the product details?). I'd still recommend them, but buyers should be aware. I'd often be building these sin a remote location, and that would be a big problem...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheaper than wood Very easy installation, cut my boards to length, screwed boards onto riser and then attached to the deck, good quality construction and cheaper than wood now!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Already rusting Already started rusting at the welds. Had them outside for only a month now. Powder coating is very poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Two Step Deck stairs Good solid support for two stairs between deck levels. I found it easier to attach the treads before installing them. Otherwise it’s touch to get at the attaching screws. Does the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stair risers I thought they would have 4 bolts in a row like all the others I have already. Instead they had eight and they were staggered reason for the missing ⭐️ . Not the end of the world. I used all 10 I bought and made big bleacher style stairs with 2x12 treads. Had to drill the holes where I wanted and used carriage bolts but they look great. They will out last any wood stair risers hand down.

what railing would you recommend for these stairs

Asked by: DIY Dan
Good question. These don't make it easy to add railings. I made steps out of treated 2 x 10s and built stick railings attached to the ends of the steps and extending down past the metal supports. A better but more costly solution would be to use the aluminum kit railings that mount to the top of the steps.

For a height of 12 ft from ground to deck how many step do I require?

Asked by: Sheila
Simple math. Each rise is 7.5 inches. 12 feet is 144 inches. Divide 144 by 7.5. You get 19.2. The deck is the 19th step, so you need a stringer of 18 steps. I don't think they make those. You might have to build 2 or 3 sets of stairs with landing in between.
