Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made and appear to be quite sturdy :) I bought the stair risers to make quick temporary steps for a recently acquired hot tub. The steps were easy to install, and I made the steps for under$50 vs $200 or more if I purchased them commercially. The steps are quite sturdy and hold my weight (230lbs) without difficulty.

Nor will they provide the needed specifications for 3rd party Engineering Certification. A statement from Pylex guaranteeing that the Aluminum Riser Products meet and exceed the Canadian National Building Code standard is NOT acceptable in most municipalities. Use of this product is not recommended.

From the time I opened the box to the time they were put together and attached to the footboard of the bed was literally 1.5 hours!! Sturdy construction and many options for size make this product an amazing thing!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great. Plan cost. stair risers as advertised, lights weight and seem strong enough. I also bought the stair railing and picket kits. These are quite tricky to put together if they need to be cut. The spacers also need to be cut. I used the narrow pickets for the deck and they rattle. In the spring I plan to silicone them. For the stairs I used wide pickets and they do not seem to rattle. The cost dos add up to more than I had planned. They deck with the railings, in black, looks fantastic. I am a medium skilled man that can use power tools etc. My friend helped with the stair railings and pickets as he had installed them before. On my own I would have had a really hard time having never seen it installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice! Ordered online, received well packaged, no damage. Fit & finish on theses risers was very nice--gloss black paint which makes it very easy to clean, looks sharp. Installation was very easy, level it up, couple of bolts top & bottom--done! I also ordered the corresponding deck treads--all pre-drilled holes lined up correctly and the entire stairs is now solid as a rock. the low profile of the risers allows for storage under the stairs if required, as compared to traditional wood stringers which take up far more room. I would definitely order this product or products from this company again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great stair risers The stairs are great. That's the good part. The bad part is that they don't come long enough, I needed 18 steps and the longest is 15 steps. We ended up having to build the bottom 3 steps from wood. It would be nice if there was a better description in that you can't combine the aluminium steps with the steel steps, the stringers are a different width which makes the connection piece that is sold unusable. I had to order the steel connector and the extra 3 steps to find this out. There was a delay in our project but there was no problem in returning the unusable pieces.

If I am using 2 by 12 treads that are 48 inches wide, should I use 2 of these stair risers or 3?

Can I double or triple up my 2x10 steps, this way it will space my steps out evenly to reach the height of 26?

The easier solution may be to purchase a riser with 6 steps.  This would provide considerable more structural support and less messing around.

Does this product come with lag bolts and screws or bolts for the treads?

No it does not. Lag bolts would be better than screws because it will be easier to get a socket or wrench between the metal frame.

Is the middle support post in a fixed place or is there some maneuverability? In order to pour post holes prior to receiving the risers.

The support is fixed in that there are drilled holes on the third step from the bottom in a ten step stair. If you wanted to drill new holes I would think that it was possible.
