Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality steps Lightweight and durable. Anti-slip tread is good even in wet conditions (have not used in winter yet). Only 4 stars because this product is not directly compatible with the peak stair risers shown in the "recommended/ also viewed" section under the specifications tab. I ended up having to drill a couple additional holes in the risers to successfully bolt them to the peak stair risers. Only an extra 10 mins of work but unfortunate. Each step comes with 4 bolts and nuts for quick and easy installation even with my above mentioned issue. Final result is a solid outdoor stair case that will last for years to come and I am happy with them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just barely good enough. Looks pretty good. I bought a 3 step black aluminum stairs. The main issue is that the quality is just minimally sufficient to do its job. I feel some flex when I walk on them and I'm not even heavy at 170lbs. I wish they were more heavy duty. I thinking of adding a third riser in the middle to give them some more support but I will have to drill holes to do so.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product Love the steps, sturdy and lightweight. I bought them to go from dock to beach and put them on a hinge to flip up when the water is high or turns to ice. Wish I’d done it years ago. Very miffed that the holes do not line up with the stringer, had to drill through metal stringers to fasten with bolts. So when it says they are often bought together, be forewarned, it’ll do a number on your drill bit!

My only suggestion is to ensure customers order 3 supports for this size of tread. We went with a middle support for 48 inch step. Installed in garage makeover coming into house. Very very pleased.

How durable is the surface finish?  Will the black paint scratch off?

Hello Sir, The paint won't scratch as there's small bump on the surface which you will step on and so you won't touch the surface of the tread. We do have an 5 year full warranty on ours products. Anything else, please let us know. Thanks

Can I attach this tread to the riser at the very end of the tread, without leave 1” or 2” space like the item picture?  Also if I only need 38” wide tread, can I cut from the 42” tread without impact it’s quality? Can I close tread end again? Thx

How much heat do these retain? How hot will they be in peak July/August summer in direct sun? Too hot for bare feet?

I have two questions: 1. Are the treads solid or do they have holes allowing rain to drain through or snow to fall through? 2. Will these install to wooden stringers? (Looking for winter safety over current wooden treads.)

Hello Sir, They are solid and has anti-slippery bumps. Water and snow wil drain as treads aren't perfectly leveled. You will need to drill holes through the treads as there's no easy way to fix then onto wooden stringers. We also well the aluminum stringer that goes with the treads.
