I would like to know how low will the step in be I would need it to be 4" from the floor

Depending on the model, our Narrow and Wide size Walk-Thru Inserts reduce the step over height by up to roughly 9”. Our Xtra-Deep size is for deeper and larger soaker tubs and will reduce your step over height by up to roughly 12”

What is this product made of?

The product is made of linear low-density polyethylene which is a form of plastic. It will not yellow, crack or become brittle with age.

What is the difference between this product SKU 1001713217 and 1001713218?

Both products are the same except for one dimension which allow the Walk-Thru Insert to fit a wider tub apron wall.  The Wide Walk-Thru Insert fits a wider tub wall VS the Narrow Walk-Thru Insert. They also have an Xtra Deep model which is for larger soaker tubs. The documents section on HD site has a PDF for all the sizing dimensions. Their website (www.quicktub.com) has it also under the “How to and Support” tab.

How long does this typically take to install? Also, what type of bathtubs can it be installed on?

Our product takes roughly 2 to 3 hours to install. It can be installed on a wide variety of tub materials; porcelain enamel steel, acrylic, fibreglass, cast iron and others. Since the product comes in 3 different sizes (Narrow, Wide, Xtra-Deep), please be sure to check the sizing PDF to make sure the product fits your specific tub. In most cases your standard tub will require a Narrow or Wide Walk-Thru Insert. Our Xtra-Deep Walk-Thru Insert is typically for larger soaker tubs.
